Not only is this place full of crime, the office staff is so rediculous!! They lost my $600 pet deposit twice and made me repay it. My roommates cars have both gotten broken into and they tried to actually steal the car once.. The Maintenance staff stole OVER $800 plus jewelry from my room while I was out of town (and I didn't make a request for them to come to my place at all).. If you are thinking about living here, I would think twice, maybe three times!!!!

Ah yes, the old pet deposit trick. I fell victim to this scam as well. Upon move in, I paid the ridiculous deposit with no questions asked as I could never leave home without my pug. Well at some time during my stay here, the deposit was re-allocated without my knowledge or permission. This proved to me that the deposit was actually more of a permanent payment made, but whatever. So, after about a year of having no deposit on file (unbeknownst to me) an office employee saw my roomate walking the dog and asked who's it was (this dog had been introduced to everyone there and they were all well aware of who's dog it was) and once he told them, I received a notice of non payment of the deposit along with a lease violation (given out for breach of rules, but only to folks who don't work in the office or have friends that do. Everyone knows that these are a joke under those circumstances, but if you don't have an in, they will come after you for payment. Rightly, I refused to make the payment since this was a clear attempt at extortion with management threatening eviction and report to the credit agencies. Stupidly, I stuck to my guns got evicted and have a mark against my credit, but greatfully I was able to move on from this dump and discovered a nice out of the way complex where they treat people with respect, not as if you just walked in from the farm. I have reported this and all of the other negative experiences I had here to the Austin Tennant Association and I would encourage all others who have had similar experiences to do the same. Trust me, the association is well aware of the practices employed at this property and the more they hear about them, the more likely that this place will feel the heat. BTW - don't bother arguing with the on site staff about anything, they have no power as the place is owned by slumlords in MA. Try giving them a call! F Longhorn Landing.

Keep copies of all cleared checks and make sure you fill out the "for" line. Also if you have any maintenance requests or other issues that go unresolved the first time, send it again in a certified letter and again keep a copy. After living here I do this with almost every company I work with. Sadly though, LL seems to be the only ones that needed it.
