Make sure to bring your astroglide with you when you sign your lease. I have no complaints about the grounds or my actual apartment, or with maintenance. I didn't have my car broken into (this is probably more due to the fact that I drive a p.o.s., so no one wanted to waste their time, lol). I did, however, get stuck with a pretty crappy roommate, who sold and used various drugs in our apartment, which also meant that there were knocks on the door 24/7, usu. from a pretty shady character. I had quite a few personal belongings stolen/destroyed by this guy, and his friends, and his girlfriend who lived there illegally. The management did nothing about my complaints but suggest that I move, and then fined me for the trash that he never took out. And this, folks, this is the big one. I could chalk up all the other stuff to being broke enough to have to live in student apartments, but this is the complete opposite of that reasoning. The management left a note informing me that they would be coming in to clean...for what reason, I have no clue, as I had just cleaned my apartment. They soon after sent my roommates and I a bill for over $200, and gave us 5 days to pay it. I contested the charge, and was basically told to either pay it or suffer the consequences via my credit report(s). This occurred two weeks before I moved out. Can't wait to see what charges they come up with for me after I move out. Good luck if you sign a lease here, but remember, if you're moving here to save money, the rent might be cheap, but they take it out of you in other ways.

I moved from southern Minnesota to Austin, Texas and got my apartment/roomie from Craigslist. I live at the intersection of 35 and 183. Lease ends on August 31. I have no clue where to go. Called up Longhorn Landing the other day and had a meeting with the landlord and poor planning prevented me from going. I'm searching for a one bedroom/one bathroom place. I prefer living alone but if I do find a good roomie that I can communicate with...I'm open to it. The price for Longhorn Landing does excite the eye, but I don't want to be locked down into a year long lease. I like to travel and never know when I want to get up and leave. I'm glad I read this review though. I just saved myself an ass kicking.

If that was the case, I would completely understand getting charged. But when they cleaned I still had two weeks to move out- I didn't even get a chance to clean.

Well...that 200.00 fee is what they charge for moving with a dirty apartment. Like when I moved my old roomates told me that they were trying to charge them that but after they cleaned it they didn't charge anything. FYI we broke 7 doors in the house. A ceiling fan. Punched a whole in the wall and weren't charged anything for damage. Why cus we didn't have a deposit on the apartment. They needed people to move in bad when I moved in. Parking was becoming a bishop at the end of my lease though people were bringing friends and family and I had to park around the corner. That sucked.
