I tried speaking reasonably with the staff, I don't know what the laws
that protect tenants and University students regarding State Issued, Student-Work-Study Is' I know that in the state of Texas you can come to a consensus with your landlord regard rent. However, Longhorn Landing doesn't want to hear it, Rent is due on the first where as my work-study, and that of most UT students, is given on the seventh -there more concerned with pocketing as much of your financial aid than the well being of their tenants -so much for the best student living. I pay an extra 100 dollars in late fees every month!
If you think that's not enough for you, or maybe you have another form of job or financial funding while going to school than, careful of the criminal activity around. If homicide, drug-busts, stolen property, dented cars -rarely secured gates- is in your ally then Longhorn Landing is right for you.

I despise this place as much as anybody, but If you aren't getting your rent in on time that is your fault not theirs. Very few apartments, bills, banks, etc will let you just pay late because it's more convenient. If you don't get paid until the 7th, then hold onto that check and use it for the next month. It may be hard to get a month ahead if you're already behind and having to make late payments, but it's your responsibility, not LL. Otherwise, yes, this place is a cess pool and the office staff is beyond horrid.

UT students have a free legal service available to fight slum landlords like Longhorn Landing. See http://www.utexas.edu/policies/hoppm/pm6601.html.

This review is pointless. Your lease contract served as "negotiating" a due date. As much as i dont like the staff at this place, this amounts to an unwarranted attack on them, simply due to a problem that you caused yourself. Youre an adult, when you get paid is not an excuse for any bills paid late.
