Longhorn Landing
< | >
I hated this place. I moved in on the 23rd of October 2008 and my mom payed 2 months of rent in advance until I found a job, started school and could get on my own two feet. I got a bill saying I owed rent for December. Come to find they don't prorate, and I had payed a whole months for October, even though I only lived there for 7 days! I was living with my mom, and had no reason not to move in to Longhorn Landing until the first day of November, had I known they don't prorate. The office staff had not mentioned once that they don't prorate, and we were lead to believe that we were paying for November and December. The lease is a standard TAA lease, and is VERY ambiguous. I got an eviction notice December 9th and moved out. They are suing me for the entire 8 month lease now, and I will be taking them to court shortly. The office staff and management were extremely rude and the whole setup just seems like a huge scam! Do your research, I wish I had done mine! Also, the outside and shared facilities are very nice, but the actual apartments don't even compare to the show apartment. Becareful!

Either a) you didn't read the lease agreement close enough to see the start date of the contract or b) they've conned you. Given their potential liability for not putting in the start date, I just think you're naive. Spouting off about your mother (your current roommate) doesn't help to dispel that notion either...

I agree with the above post. When i signed a lease in Aug of 08, I was told they didnt pro-rate, and was informed of their "installment" bs, as such i wated until sept to move in. Furthermore did you expect to receive the 7-8 days in Oct free?
