You're better off at The Ballpark at Austin

The apartments are advertised as student living, however, that appears to only mean that it's marketed towards students. If you make 1200 a month or can have someone co-sign, you can live there for 400 a month.

The crime rate in the area is massive and there have been a ton of break-ins, and not just in cars; there've also been a few murders here.

Management apparently has little to no contact with maintenance because we've reported a couple of problems and it takes a few weeks for maintenance to actually do anything. We had to call and report our thermostat at least four different times before they decided to do anything about it. It seems like Longhorn Landing is more worried about the next event that they're going to host, rather than the people paying the rent that fuels said events.

The neighbors are loud, the walls are thin and there have been frequent water main breaks. The furnishings are cheap. The beds are rickety. If you compare the show suite to the actual apartment that you are assigned...well, there really is no comparison. The show suite is infinitely better. It's prettier, better kept and has newer appliances. The washer/drier units remind me of the ones that my parents had when I was four. They take forever to dry anything and the extra large load is roughly the same size as a medium sized load in a newer machine.

Apparently I got lucky with my roommates. I didn't really care that I was put with a 40/50 year old divorcee, a girl in her 20's and a German guy.

Some of the people that have written reviews of this establishment have complained that there is no way out of their lease. If they had actually read it they would know that there is a one time fee of $1000 to get out of the lease. The managers don't are as long as their company gets some money out of it. If you decide to leave, someone else will come along that they can shaft out of 400 a month for the next year or so.

To be honest, The Ballpark is right down the street, has better appliances, better apartments and is only for students. The gates actually work right, rather than breaking all the time, and their security is actually present, rather than making a pass at each 'PHASE' and then leaving or whatever it that he does whenever he's not here. Half the time the gates are either broken or just open. Also, The Ballpark has the same channels, better internet and all for roughly the same price. The rent's about 360/70 and split bills usually ends up with everyone paying 20, so the price is comparable.

Again, I feel the need to reiterate that each prospective tenant should READ THEIR LEASE. They'll try and pressure you to either skim it or read it at another time, but once you've signed, you're stuck.
