Avoid this place, unless you want to end up paying ridiculous fees or you want to be a murder witness. There have been murders in these apartment. Longhorn Landing staff can go into your apartment whenever they want to. You can be naked and if they knock on the door, and you dont open the door they'll go in. Now if you lock both locks, they will make you pay a ridiculous fee for not allowing longhorn landing staff to go in. they check your apartment like 4 times a year to make sure its clean and if its not "clean like completely clean" they will charge you to send someone to clean it. I've lived in other student complexes and this is the only one i regret living in. O yeah and they claim its a student complex, and they have older people living there. And by older people i mean like 40, 50, even 60 year olds. This place is just ridiculous. O yeah and when i was there there were like 3 incidents when the windows of the cars parked facing riverside were broken. The gate, OMG you'll have a hard time trying to open that gate. Even the pedestrian gate wont work sometimes. It looks kind of nice, but you wont be safe in that apartment complex. P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS

I completely agree with everything said by this reviewer. I lived in LongHorn Landing for a year and it was by far the worst living arrangement I'd ever had. I work at night, and one night I was off and going to the grocery store at 2am, as I was walking down the stairs this guy came running out of his apt and blood was gushing out of his arm extremely fast, the stair well was soaked with blood. He was stabbed by a "customer" of his since he and his 3 other roommates were dealing drugs from their apt. This apt complex is saturated with drug dealers. If you're a parent and concerned for you're kids safety and care about their belongings (e.g. their car), do NOT allow your kid to move here. There is no way for someone to live at this complex for 6months or more and not see an act of violence or cars stripped of their stereos after shattering their windows.
Overall, this is probably one of the most dangerous student living complexes in Austin. For the mentioned reasons above I give this complex a -10 on a scale of 0 to 10.

As the new Property Manager, I am working on these issues to get resolution. Some action I have taken is to close the controlled access gates 24 hours a day. In additon, a top priority is ensuring that our pedestrian gates are fully functional. Our screening process is consistent and thorough, it includes a criminal background check, renter's history, and credit report. As the new manager, I take any resident concerns very seriously and ensure my staff does the same. I will respond to issues and encourage residents to come to me with any suggestions on how we can better serve them. On a positive note, we have received many recent comments on the resident functions, Longhorn Landing events, and the positive change in staff. Many times, apartment reviews tend to be only negative, when there are many residents who come away with a positive experience. We have many residents who have lived here for multiple years. We encourage you to stop by Longhorn Landing to form your own opinion.
Thank you,
Longhorn Landing Management
