Longhorn Station Apartments formerly Terra Vista

This place is ridiculous. We should have known when we first signed the lease that this was going to be an interesting experience. There is always a turn-over in staff so you can never know what to expect and if you find someone from management that is actually helpful they are no longer working there the next month.
When we first moved in, our apartment wasn't ready...even after we had called a month in advance to check in with them. They moved us into a room closer to the pool but the AC broke twice and it took three days each time before maintenance fixed it...all in the scorching month of August!!
The laundry mat never has hot water and the dryers never actually dry. I actually have to go to another laundry mat to do my laundry which is a huge hassle.
They recently changed water billing companies and our bill (for a 2/2) is $50 each month...which I think is ridiculous since they are SUPPOSEDLY paying 1/3 of it.
In our lease and in their ad it says that we are supposed to have 24-hour on site security patrol...however...this proved to be untrue the night that a friend of mine had his car broken into. The community is supposed to be gated but the gate has never been fixed since we moved in 8 months ago. There are always homeless people and druggies walking through the complex. It's really scary...especially if you get in late from campus and have to walk to your apartment.
The residents are mainly families....very few college students...despite the ad claims and the management saying that it is a college environment.
The management is a joke. Very few people actually try to help or even act like they care. When you need to talk to them they are nowhere to be found but they are really good at reminding you when your rent is due by posting notes on your doors and saying not to spend it all on partying (like we need that reminder'). They also tell you that you have to use Grande for cable, telephone and internet. This is not true at all. You can use whatever service you want they just have some sort of deal with Grande (which sucks anyway).
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE STAY HERE. The rent is pretty cheap for the size of the apartments but putting up with everything isn't worth it.
