Horrible, unsafe nightmare, but you get what you pay for

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
Originally, I was attracted to Longspur becuase the rent was cheap, no deposit and they had a move in special. I lived in Longspur Crossing for two years (2004-2006) and it was a total nightmare. I hate that place and I will never live there again. If you can afford better, you should not live there. Management is horrible and the office workers are lazy. But, the office workers change every 2 months, so maybe by the time you read this they will be better.
This past summer, I was home sick and I heard someone knock at my door. When I didn??t answer, the person put a key in the door and tried to open it. The only thing that stopped them, was the fact that I was home and had the inside lock locked. At first I thought it was a dream, but when I woke up my bottom lock was unlocked. So, I called the office to find out why someone tried to enter my apartment without notice and one of the girls told me that no one came out to my apartment that day. When I told her what happened she told me that she didn??t know what I was talking about. Then she hung up. Since she was the only one there, I did not call back. I waited and called the next day. I spoke to the other girl in the office and she was not concerned or alarmed. When continued to argue the fact that someone has a key to my apartment, she asked me who did I think it was and insisted that I gave a copy of my key to someone. Mind you, I only have one copy of my key and it is never out of my sight. I got upset and demanded the manager. Finally, after a day of excuses; I found out that the office didn??t know where their copy of my key was. They lost my key! They told me that the office manager was doing a random inspection and that I should have received a notice about it at the beginning of the week. I never got a notice and originally the office manager and her staff didn??t know who entered my apartment. They changed my locks, but the manager had an attitude about it.
It took at least 1-2 weeks for any work order to get filled. One time the cord in the tank of the toilet broke and it took them 1 ?? weeks to fix it and for that entire time I was without a flushing toilet. Every time I called the office they gave me the same story, ??we handle emergencies first and if you put the work order in you will have to wait??. Then, the fifth time I called someone researched it and couldn??t find the work order. Apparently I waited 5 days for nothing, and after she made out a new work order it still took them 5 more days to come out and fix it. When the guy came it took him 3 minutes to fix it. There is never parking around my building, because more than one family lives in an apartment. There are little kids running around unsupervised all the time. They play in the parking lots and hit cars. One day I came home and a neighbor or a handy man ran an electrical cord from the outlet on my back patio to the apartment next door. I called the office about it and no one did anything. The police are there almost every weekend, because the upstairs neighbors have serious bouts of domestic violence and some of the other neighbors drink in the parking lot and get loud. On the weekends (and sometimes on random weekdays) some of the men gather in the parking lot with a case of beer from 10 pm -2 am; they are loud and drunk. Sometimes, they open their car door and turn the stereo up, so you have this loud ranchero music blaring. There is a rooster in the neighborhood behind us that crows all of the time!
The air conditioner was leaking inside the wall, so the carpet got wet and there ware big patches of mold growing on the walls. It took them 4 attempts, and a month and 4 days to fix it. Each time they told me it was fixed and when it leaked again it took forever for the guy to come back out. So, I got upset and called the manager. When I got tired of excuses I asked for the corporate number. She lied and told me she didn't know it. I had to look the number up on the internet and call the regional manager (who is a total witch). They finally fixed the problem, but I still have mold and the carpet is discolored. When I tried to make a complaint at the corporate office (Westdale) no one called me back. So apparently no one cares about this property!
I was in the office last week and new residents were complaining, becuase they didn't have a working stove. They moved in 4 days ago and put in a work order, because the electric stove doesn't heat. No one was concerned until the man started yelling. The sad thing is that was his 2nd time going to the office to complain about the stove.
