Rainier loves to screw tenants

I live at lorrain and my lease contract term has expired and I am paying month-to-month until i move out in two weeks. My roommate is going to stay and sign a new contract with a new roommate. Rainier has tried 3 different ways to make me sign a contract. Why sign a contract when I am moving out' They have given me 3 different reasons.
Reason 1: "You have to sign a renewal contract and then sublease your room to get out of it. That is just the way it is done. "
Reason 2: "you have to sign a renewal contract and then an addendum to take your name off of the contract. That is just the way it is done"
Reason 3: "You are indefinitely liable for your apartment as long your roommate remains there, whether or not your lease term ends. So you should sign a renewal contract since you are already liable for the apartment"
I have read the contract many times. I have given my notice to vacate. I have been given permission by Rainier to move out on the date that we had agreed upon 60 days ago. But now they are trying ot convince me that I cannot move out without signing new leases.
The laundry facility sucks. Sometimes this place smells like sewage, as if it drained through pipes between your walls. They have trouble retaining their staff. There's a new girl in the leasing office each time I visit. And the staff is never very knowledgeable about anything.
