My daughter is moving in here. I'm a Mom--and I look over EVERYTHING before I give an opinion. It looks like a nice place to live. I'm impressed with the landscaping--and yes--I looked at it ALL! I'm so glad for the reviews that have been written; I hope she has a good review to write after a while. I'm impressed with the building conditions (looks like someone gives a rats tush). I'm also impressed with the fact that the outside persona is tightly controlled (tenants can't make it run down with hanging crap all over the place). For the price, it looks like a fairly decent value. For those highly complaining on the website--move somewhere else and shut up; then let me hear what you say. People are people--you need to learn to cope, learn to shut up, and learn to think POSITIVE! Now--if you jump into the pool and run across something disgusting--or if you GET something disgusting after swimming there--THEN we'll talk (and I'll have the board of health and a lawyer in tow).

Sounds like this post was written by one of the apartment's staff that works in the office (Did you notice the lovely "semi-professionally" taken pictures? I did). For a legit review, listen up. My family and I (My wife and two toddlers) have lived in the MacKenzie Pointe complex for a little less than two years. I have never lived in a complex that has ever been so unreceptive and unaccommodating to its tenants. Why just today, after having a $110 water and gas bill clipped to my door I had a nice little chat with the apartment staff. I suppose I should say that it was more of a conversation where I stated the fact that my water bill has gone up constantly since I moved in 2006, not once has the bill been lower than the previous month, NEVER, and the staff responding with, it's not our fault, it's your fellow tenants responsibility to be conservative with their water usage. We have no responsibility here. You can imagine my frustration. Why just a few months ago my car was broken into and vandalized, so naturally I brought this to the management???s attention, and again, it's not our fault. While legally it may be true that the apartment complex does not TECHNICALLY have and binding obligation to regulate these matters to the best of their ability, it is as if they waive it in your face, parading the fact that it was my own fault that I chose to live in this place. I am definitely not one to complain, I just feel it necessary to inform any prospective tenants of the reality of renting here. If you can get past the snobby staff, the gouging water bill, poor buildings and sub-par security, then please move in immediately. Oh yeah on your property tour, did the leasing agent happen to show you the razor wire on the back fence to keep out the ???undesirables??? from the low income neighborhood behind us?

i'm not really sure how much credibility you should give to a review that basically says "what i saw when they showed me the apartment looked good, i hope everything goes ok." Maybe you should look at some of the review of people who live(d) here. Seems like this lady was shown a really small portion of the complex, and was shielded from some of the negatives

I'm currently living at MacKenzie Pointe. The staff is friendly until you need a repair or have a complaint. Then they get plenty of attitude. Basically a bunch of kids working in the office. The manager is rarely there but she's ineffective anyway. There are piles of dog crap all over the place but mostly in front of my apartment. I have to carefully step outside my door and the smell is disgusting. They allow people to have dogs the size of ponies and don't enforce fines for not picking up after their pets. Unfortunately, most of the pet owners are irresponsible. While that's not the managements fault, it is their responsibility to keep the grounds clean. If the tenant won't pick it up, maintenance should. The sprinklers are not calibrated properly drenching my patio. In fact, if I open my door the water comes in my apartment. Roaches are everywhere outside and inside. They are constantly scurrying across the sidewalks. The "security" gate is rarely operating although they charge you a $20 deposit for the "key" to the gate. They woo tenants with amenities that disappear after you move in; a wirless room that you can't enter because the key system is always on the blink. A fitness center that has people so wasted on drugs they harrass you while you're working out. When I complained about the wireless room being closed for 2 weeks, the kid in the office told me there was nothing I could do. Amenities weren't covered in the lease. Clearly, he didn't read the lease. I say, avoid this place if possible. Bad news.
