The walls adjoining rooms between two apartments are paper thin. You can hear the neighbors even if they are speaking in a regular tone. If you have an apartment above someone else's garage, every time the open/close it, you will hear the annoying hum of the garage door and feel vibrations in your room. These apts are built very poorly and have terrible insulation. I can also smell smoke in my apartment if people are smoking in the building. I'm not sure how it seeps in. There are too many smokers in this bldg. Gross and terrible!

I agree! I have lived in many apartments and have never lived in an apartment that is so loud. I can hear all my neighbors...below, above and next door. I live around some ------- and the ----- smell will seep through the walls. Be prepared to hear everything and I'm sure my neighbors can hear me.
