In the words of Monty Python... "Run Away!!!"

One of the worst management teams I've ever had the unfortunate experience to work with. We had several problems that either took WEEKS to resolve or in the case of our sliding glass door and two windows in the master bedroom that leaked, were NEVER resolved during the 15 months that we lived there in unit 217. When we finally decided to move (we bought a house), we were quoted one price over the phone of what it would cost to break the lease by the property manager, (to protect the name of the female property manager with the ---------- and the smug attitude, I've changed her name in this review.)---. When I dropped of the check to cover everything due, I was told that we owed an additional $300 because they accidentally told us the wrong amount. After arguing with them about it,--- offered a slight discount of $50 for the inconvenience. We paid everything in full and after the walk-through was complete we were given a receipt showing we had a zero balance due. About a month later, we received a notice from the Madison at Stone Creek Apartments stating that we owed an additional $100 for a pet violation. We never had a pet of any kind in our apartment. I contacted--- directly who told me that she was not going to remove anything because of a report by one of her employees. When I asked for proof that we had violated the contract, she said she had none, but again refused to remove the fine. It wasn't until we contacted the corporate office to complain about the issue that it was fully resolved. Apparently,--- had gone back into our account after we had already closed everything out and listed the $100 as unpaid rent. Basically she was trying to get back the discount she extended to us after she made the mistake of misquoting the price to break the contract.
Between the attitude and the lies that--- and the rest of the staff give to their tenants, I'm EXTREMELY surprised that they are still employed.
If you're looking for a place to live, avoid the Madison at Stone Creek at all costs. I've read NO good review about them on ANY site so far. Wish that we'd of read up on them more before choosing them as our first home in Austin.

I am surprised the corporate office responded to at all. They don't seem to care that ------------ is the only problem with this complex. If they fired ------------ they wouldn't have the turn over they currently have. I applaud your efforts in informing upper management! Bravo!

I feel your pain, I lived at this complex in 04 when first moving from Houston, I have never been treated the way ------------ and the others treated me, I too ended up billed for almost $1,000 of crazy charges which ended up on my credit, I've now paid it through the corporate office but apparently ------------ gets some sort of thrill from extorting money from families. SERIOUSLY!

I'm surprised that--- took your call or was even there to meet with you. After my official last day of living there, the office never called me back and corporate only called back after I pestered them with multiple calls over several days. And the little girls in the office never had any proof to show that we owed more money either, just their word against mine.

I am glad that I stumbled onto this web site. I was looking at Madison at Stone Creek online and they looked pretty good. I am thinking about selling my home and am not familiar with apt. living as it is today. I will surely look else where. I want to be in a friendly and honest living arrangement this ------------ sounds like the "----- from Hell", and not someone that I want to have to deal with on a regular basis. Thanks for the info.

I am having a HUGE problem with ------------ right now trying to extend my lease even though my lease is up on the 20th of OCT, she is trying to make me stay until NOV 24th. I have lived there since AUG of 2005...who's ever heard of a 27 month lease? That--- is the rudest woman. She is horrible and is so condesceding. I'm not trying to break my lease as she says...only trying to leave when it's up and not be held hostage. She can best believe that this is not the last she'll here from me.

I've moved quite a bit within the past ten years and each time I've lived in an apartment. Every property management company that I???ve rented with has required a written notice. I have thoroughly read every lease contact that I've ever signed. The notice requirement is written into the lease. I find this response interesting to say the least... I personally haven't had any problems here. I've been here for the past two years and I don't plan on moving anytime soon.

12/19/2007 - If you have completed your full lease without regard to notice given, then you can legally move out without any penalties beyond losing your deposit. The terms of the lease are clear. Your lease starts on one date and ends on another. As long as you pay your rent in full and on time, then you can move out WITHOUT giving advanced notice on the date the lease ends. Again, the only thing you lose is your deposit. This is Texas law. If the apartment complex tries to tell you otherwise, please message me and I'll be happy to assist you. supermerth.rm@yahoo.com And one more thing, "Anonymous". You mention that usually when someone has a problem with the complex, it is their own fault it didn't get fixed. So tell me, how do you explain the fire alarms going off REPEATEDLY for no reason and then NOT going off when there was an actual fire? I guess we didn't fill out the work order properly for that, huh? Or the fact that even the corporate office found that the manager was providing false information to justify her charging us a $100 pet violation fee. If the complex is so great as you claim, then surely the corporate office wouldn't have sided with us, right?
3/18/08 - Clearly you know nothing of real estate contracts, Anonymous. If you did, you'd know that the only way that the can hold you responsible for anything beyond your deposit is if your contract includes an auto-renewal clause which The Madison at Stone Creek Aparments' lease does not.
If you would like to discuss the details of your lease, Anonymous, I'd be happy to do so. I'll even use small words so you can follow along.
I find it interesting that the individuals who speak on behalf of the apartment complex are all "anonymous". Maybe apartment personnel or the property manager?...

You signed a contract with a company that says you will give a written 60 day notice. Its not the companys fault that you didn't read the lease. So you are on crack if you think you are correct on that supermerth or is it superMETH crackhead!
