Be aware of your neighbors if you live here. A serial rapist lived in this complex up until his arrest this week (August 09). No gates here. no security guards. dimly lit. Its possible that this guy is a convicted felon... Two women were raped, one jogging outside the complex, one in her apartment in the complex directly next to Madison at the Arboretum

If someone has committed a crime that is violent in nature they will not qualify to live at the Madison Arboretum Apartments.

You are right David Gonzales did live there and he was convicted of raping the woman at Great Hills just down the road. The good thing is he is behind bars. Hopefully they will get rid of his roommate and not allow him to stay there if he hasn't already left from pure embarrassment for living under the same roof as a rapist. I??m also hoping David will be convicted for the rape a few months ago. I can??t imagine another rapist in the area. Just remember this could be any town anywhere USA. Especially in today??s age where there are far more people. Austin is growing in population daily and has been for years. Unfortunately, you will only hear and see more of this, it??s just common sense. Remember, in the long run you are responsible for your own safety and well being not the apartment office. They are there to provide you a roof over your head. If you have mixed feelings then you can move. Up until this awful incident it??s a decent place to live. My only complaint is the person who drives in every now and then at 2 a.m. with their rap music on full blast and the bass booming. The bedrooms are off the parking lot so this makes for a rude awakening. This is a total lack of respect towards the people trying to get some rest. I don??t understand how some people are so selfish. I??ve had this type of situation at every apartment I??ve ever lived in so what are you to do.

It's true the apartment isn't responsible for your safety, but for paying such a steep price for a secluded, apparent "luxury" apartment, how did a guy with his criminal history pass the background check?
From: Anonymous Date: 09/05/2009
Seems to me that some people are on a witch hunt. This guy did live here but it could have happened anywhere. By the way I know they do background checks because I know someone that was turned away due to having some theft convictions on his record. I also know that property managment changed over. I am willing to bet that this guy has been here for awhile and probably since before this property group got here. I am sure that if this group knew they would have gotten rid of him. Oh and to the person that thinks that his roomie should get the boot you are making yet one more victim in this horrible situation. So many times the friends and family have no idea that a person that they trust is doing something like that. I feel bad for the roommate. Other people are ignorantly juding him. I have met him and he is a really nice guy. Now he is out of the other half of his rent, found out that a person he trusted was a monster and has haters like you. Not cool.

Yep, I live here with the "luxury" of living near paroled felons. Thanks for not doing background checks, Madison at the Arboretum!

Again, background checks are done on ALL applicants who apply and crimes that are violent in nature are not allow to live at Madison at the Arboretum.

I love how the "staff" replies and justifies all negative reponses about the property. Just goes to show you what kind of sleaze balls you're dealing with. A group that is attempting to justify RAPE. Really classy. First of all "management" let the people speak. You have a crap complex and worse employees. You can't justify your lack of competance. THe people have spoken. You guys suck at life.
