Short Summary: DON'T MOVE HERE!!!
- Top 9 Reasons & Evidence of Why Not to Move Here:
12113 Metric Blvd, or Madison At Walnut Creek -
Synopsis:
As a resident of this community I am looking forward to my lease coming to an end, and I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone, much less doing any business with Northland Investment Corporation. This complex looks nice on the outside, but there is a HUGE lack of professionalism/knowledge/respect within some of the staff (including office staff, management, and regional management). Along with high amount of criminal activity taking place in the complex over the past year.
- First, of all their excuse to me for any problems that may occur is "We just recently purchased this complex and we don't have a defiant answer, but we will look into that ... blah blah blah...We are a good solid company we bought this complex and other complexes in Austin area for "X" amount in cash"...Seriously who cares, they should do less talk and more action, use that money to make things better...
- Second, the gate has never worked more than 4 or 5 days in a row. I know this gate is not a security gate but it limits the access of who comes in. I know if someone really wants into the complex they will get in, but the gate is just there for a piece of mind (this issue has recently been fixed, lets see how long this lasts)... I hope you get my point... There is also no security or surveillance system on the complex... There is not much lighting around the complex in general... There is also no (the last I herd) courtesy officer on premises.
- Three, there has been a numerous amount of burglaries over the past year (from 01/01/2008 - 02/06/2009 with a 500 ft radius of this address 12113 Metric Blvd) there has been:
1 - AGG ROBBERY/DEADLY WEAPON - parking lot - Feb 6th, 2009
1 - ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING NON-INJURY
7 - THEFT
17- BURGLARY OF VEH
7 - BURGLARY OF RESIDENCE - My residence was burglarized in November I lost the normal things a thief would take. I suspect that someone had or has an unauthorized access to my key along with another residents that lives in the same building as I (same style of break-in for both of us).
4 - AUTO THEFTS
4 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
2 - THEFT FROM AUTO
9 - FAMILY DISTURBANCE
& 23 other different crimes & offenses

- Four, dog poop is over most of the grassy areas so don't walk in the grass at night when throwing out the trash.
- Five, parking spots are SMALL don't drive a truck are any large vehicle. Door-dings are guaranteed (its the only free thing coming from this place)...
- Six, make sure you read the fine print to anything from leases to promotions for referring friends. The refer-a-friend promo sounds good, for a few hundred easy bucks but its catchy, its NOT the instant cash that it sounds like. You have to wait sometime to see your money...
- Seven, there are numerous lights blown-out and not working within the complex. They need to walk around the area at night and determine what needs to be fixed. Just in my unit alone there are 3 lights that are not working or are working improperly, potential fire hazard.
- Eight, they need to set a standard of rules for everyone. When signing the lease I was informed that trailers and boats are NOT permitted to be stored on premise... there is a Zero tolerance... This rule is pointless, because in the back of the property there are boats and trailers...
- Nine, what is the point of the fitness center when it only operates during office hours (till 5pm)''' It was at one time open till late into the night as long as you had the access code but its been chained closed... So essentially we are paying for amenities we can not use (This place is a hoax in my eyes)... Same thing with the "heated pool", its chained closed too!!!
Now do I sound bitter''' What would I like''' I would like to be released from my lease because this place is what I would deem as unsafe, and they do not take what I deem much pride in creating a conducive atmosphere. I understand crime happens everywhere, but I should not have to live in fear about someone having access to my residence. If someone smashed my door in what would be a different story, but for someone to key into my place that is another story, proving that someone within the company has/d access to keys to other apts...
- Oh yeah make sure you get renters insurance and DON'T MOVE HERE!!! Save your time and don't stop here... At sometimes I'm starting to think that living off Riverside was a better experience, and a lot cheaper then this turkey of a dwelling...

Is there anything else better in this price range in more or less this neighborhood? All the newer/nicer places cost significantly more, and the much older and slightly cheaper place I moved from last year is a whole lot worse than this place.
I agree the parking is bad and the gate almost never works. Other than that, maybe I have low standards or have just been lucky, but I have no major complaints.
