Madison is the cute guy or girl who looks really good from across the room. But the closer you walk towards the person things change. At worse, they are ugly. At best, they just aren't what you thought.

PROS:
1. Layout of apartment
2. Washer/dryer in unit -- love it!
3. Maintenance -- with me personally -- not my friends -- they were on the ball about getting things done. I never had to wait long for anything.
4. Pool/hot tub (on Phase 1 side)
5. Good deal when I moved in!
6. Resident parties. They have food, drinks, and always have prize giveaways. Nice! I never won anything but that doesn??t matter ?? the point is that they had them.

CONS:
1.Mold problems. The day I was scheduled to move in, a portion of my closet ceiling was covered in mold! Because the apt. was suppose to be ready to move in (I had already been waiting 3 weeks) I asked for another apt. They made a big deal about it and told me no. They would have maintenance come brush away the mold and I could move in the next few days! I told them NO ?? the mold was pretty developed and I thought brushing it away would do no good since it was temporary. I asked if I could at least get a refund for the days I had paid for since I wouldn??t be able to move in, they said NO. At the time my options were to take the apt. or move elsewhere. They offered me nothing else. I ended up going above their heads and finding someone very nice and understanding who got me moved into another apt. with NO problems. Looking back ?? that was the first sign to RUN away from the complex, but I was in a bind at that point. I had movers, all my stuff literally sitting outside, and no where to stay, and had already put my money down with them.

I never saw mold in the apt. I ended up moving in. I thought this was an isolated problem with me ?? just bad luck ?? but I am friends with residents in Phase 2 who have had substantial mold problems. The maintenance came by but the mold kept growing back. My friend??s furniture was ruined due to mold growing behind places that were covered up ?? including the oven in the kitchen! They did not refund her for her furniture or care.

2. Parking was horrible, as with every other complex. If you work funny hours or get home after everyone else, you are screwed. You WILL be walking w/ groceries. Unless you can afford a garage.
3. Apartment -- at first glance it looks new and well built, but it isn't at all. The sockets and doors aren't that great. Cabinets, apt. in general is poorly built.
4. Pipe in the shower. They told me every apt. was going to this. I have since seen and lived elsewhere. No one else I know has a pipe in the shower. It is in every shower so its unavoidable. NO nothing ever came out while I stayed there, but just the fact that it was there made it uncomfortable for me to shower.
5. Staff -- horrible. Unhelpful, uncaring, and really have the "I will be nice until you sign the lease and then don't ever talk to me again" mentality. There were a couple new girls who were nice here and there, but they weren't the majority.
6. Billing practices. Keep up with your money. They seemed to lose, misplace, or forget things a lot. And it got worse when it was time to move out. I had everything documented, thank God!

I happily moved out. My friends who was still staying there said the apt. has gotten worse. The friend I said had the mold problems ended up leaving because they WOULD NOT come fix the mold and she couldn??t live there. She has pictures. The apt. charged her for "breaking a lease" when she wrote them letters informing them that if someone did not come by and fix the mold problem, she would stay with her brother until it was fixed. Some of her things were STILL in the apt. but they ACTUALLY RENTED THE APT. OUT to someone else although my friend was STILL on the lease! I told her to sue them, but I don??t know if she did or not.
