The first year of my lease, I was very happy here. Management was so friendly and helpful. Maintenance was prompt. I referred a couple of co-workers to move in. They've since vacated. I'm soon to follow.

You have to be here at night time to really see what I'm talking about. The neighborhood surrounding Chelsea Regent has never been great, but now there are issues within the complex. The students and professionals that used to live here are being replaced with loud, messy tenants that leave their trash in the breezeways. There are shady-looking guys wandering around the complex at late hours. The quality of this place has gotten so bad I believe leasing will approve anyone. There have been break-ins in the past few months-the most recent attempt being on my apartment this week. The complex is very poorly lit. Management claims to have hired a security company to overview the premises, but I've yet to see a single guard.

Maintenance has also gone downhill. My requests used to be handled within a couple of business days, but I now have repairs that have been outstanding for weeks. Management is such a pain to deal with. Chelsea must have the highest turnover rate in town. There's always a new cast of characters when I go into the leasing office.

So renters beware: save yourself the trouble and keep lookin'. There are well-managed communities with better amenities (in better neighborhoods) for the same price. Take the time to find them. You won't regret it.
