I moved to this apartment in a pinch. It was my first apartment and I was new to Austin and didn't know anything about North Lamar. This apartment does virtually NO background check on any residents. The office workers were dating maintenace guys and things of that sort. They left notices posted about how residents should not be drinking beer outside of their apartment, yet the office workers would be in the center courtyard drunk as hell on Saturday nights. The pool is an icky GREEN color, my mailbox key didn't open my mailbox for 6 weeks, I never had a bedroom door, there are no dishwashers, my kitchen sink was constantly stopped up, the stove is miniature, and the air conditioner didn't work all of the time. So if you are ready to sweat, learn spanish and buy ice cream from the little guy ringing a bell and pushing a cart, this is the place for you!!....Oh yeah, can't forget the guy who stopped me at 4 in the morning asking to use my phone or if he could borrow $20. When I told him I didn't have one (a lie) he knocked on my door one more time just to let me know he'd really appreciate it if I didn't call the cops on him...scary!
