It was great until carmen came along the old staff was great (misty,sherry) they would always be out walking the property and running the crack heads out and prostitutes not carmen.

You are SO right about Carmen, they had great office staff that were very helpful when I was out of the country for a month, the head maintenance man (the only white guy) was great, knew my dog from seeing me walk her around the complex, so he never had a problem. After Carmen took over, the ENTIRE office and maintenance staff and 75% of the tenants were suddenly hispanic. I have nothing against them, have had them for roomates, band members, just personal friends and I'm married to a Chinese woman, so I'm not prejudiced. It's just when you see (tenant turned out to be "cousins" of someone on office staff) a kid with no pants pee off the railings onto the sidewalk where people walk (like me, missed me by two seconds). He was standing between two adult males (Hispanic) at the time, and THEY were playing their music during the day excessively loud. Outraged, I stormed into the office only to be told they were sending someone over their right away. I told them I was also sending someone (APD) as well, which I did. Calling 311 is always an option for loud music, don't bother 911, it is NOT an emergency. But it does work. I lived there four years and it was okay for the convience of the location, since I didn't have a car after the first year. But once Carmen came in, the place really went to s***. Oh, and by the way, it is next door to one of the notorious housing projects in the city, Thurmond Heights. After I moved out, the local news informed me that the street that separates Malibu from Thurmond Heights, was THE worst crime area in Austin. Hardly a night went by when (while walking my dog) that I wasn't approached for sex, money, drugs, (buy or sell), and that's just a ten minute sampling of the day. Ridiculous. I suggest that everyone check with APD if you have a computer because you can get the crime statistics online, just key in the nearest intersection, like North Lamar and Thurmond, and get the reports. I've done it for the place I am moving to now in South Austin because my wife works down there and doesn't drive. I am on SS Disability, so we are mainly moving because the one hour round-trip every morning starts my back spasms up and I can't take any meds until I return home. Carmen was also very rude to me and another guy with a disability, complaining that "WE" bugged her about the lack of parking for disabled (only one spot on the north side and rear of the complex. I only asked for one or two more, they put in four more, but she included my friend in the accusation against me for just asking for a reasonable accomadation. My friend informed her that not only did he NEVER talk to her about it, but he did not even own a car. Carmen is just a big liar and she will roast in hell for the things she does to people who are disabled.
