Don't make the same mistake I did

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived at Marlborough Square for a year and a half, and let me tell you that was a year and a half too long! Below are list of reasons NOT to live at Marlborough Square:
1. CRIME
When I first moved in the police were here at least twice a week for some fight, robbery, domestic dispute, loud neighbors blasting their rap, etc... It seemed like it got better but just last month there was a hold-up in the laundry room and then a series of burglaries in the area, not to mention the 711 next door has been robbed a time or two. How did I know this' Because management had posted it on our doors warning us about it. Some mornings you will wake up to see homeless people dumpster diving. The apartment has no gates so stragglers are free to roam around at will, both during the day and at night.
2. Management
There have been 3 managers and about a dozen assistants in my 1.5 years here. They are prone to change like the wind. They hate people to do month-to-month and your rent is guaranteed to go up every 6-12 months with no improvements to anything. In 1.5 years, my rent went from $425 to $650. I started with a 6 month lease and tried to do month-to-month and was told to leave, then worked out another 6 month lease, then tried again for month-to-month and was allowed to do it 2 months, but then they slapped a $75 rent increase on me regardless if it was monthly, 6 or 12. Their communication with tenants is polite in person, but then they post rude demands and notices on your door. Very un-professional.
3. Noise
If you choose to live here, be prepared to listen to loud basing from cars creeping up and down Rundberg and Dessau all night, and from the duplexes directly behind the apartments, not to mention pray you have quiet neighbors. It sounded like I had a family of 10 living above me and I honestly wouldn t doubt it.
CONCLUSION
The one and ONLY thing this place ever had going for it was the once cheap rent and the fact they offer free cable and internet. Luckily I never had to shoot anyone threatening me or my property, and the area might improve or might get worse. I have now finally decided to move on to a nicer part of town and ironically pay the same rent they were trying to charge me for this shi*hole place. Please don t make the same mistake I did.
