Although the complex is relatively nice and the apartments are pleasant, the attitudes of the management staff are completely inappropriate. They have an almost adversarial relationship with many of the residents. Many of the individuals I know that have lived here move out simply because they can't stand the manner in which they were treated.

For example, one resident who had lived here for nearly 4 years was moving out of state for a new job and needed to add one extra month to his lease. The staff saw this as an opportunity to raise his rent as high as possible because it was "month-to-month." They raised his rent by nearly $400 because they knew he didn't have a choice, even though many of their apartments were vacant at the time. his apartment was still vacant 2 months after he left.

I've seen this repeated over and over. Whether it be raising one person's rent and not another's, to keeping a large portion of the deposit when you leave, they seem to have made a priority of short-term cash over long-term tenant satisfaction and their own reputations. One tenant had moved in after receiving a waiver on the pet weight limit from one of the staff. After they moved in, the manger saw the dogs and forced them to move out saying that the other individual didn't have the power to allow the larger dogs and hadn't kept the records properly.

The property has its benefits, but they are far outweighed by an unprofessional staff and a general sense that if they can squeeze more money out of you, they will. Running an apartment complex as a business is one thing, going out of your way to stick it to people is another.
