Living Here and Loving It!

My husband and I just moved to Austin from Pittsburgh, PA and lived in the Marquis for temp. housing and loved it so much, we decided to get a 2BR and stay! Here are the reasons we love it so much:
1. The commute to town is short (30 min max) since it is so close to the Mo-Pac. Without traffic, we can shoot downtown in 15-20 min. Very nice!
2. The view is stunning. You will not find a more breathtaking view of the Hill Country anywhere else! The complex is set back about 2 miles from the main road, and the road that leads in is winding and full of trees and completeley beautiful. It's such a stress-release each day driving home becuase the area is so amazing.
3. The complex itself looks like a resort. The pool/hottub/grilling area is awesome and very well maintained. The gym is nice and the clubhouse is an added bonus if you just want to get away from your apartment. I feel like I'm at a resort every time I walk to the pool.
4. It is very safe. It's a gated community, and I've never seen or heard of anything usafe or shady going on. I feel very safe walking around at night. There are always people out walking their dogs, etc.
5. It's very quiet. Right now, we're in a second story one bedroom and we havent heard a peep from any neighbors in the month we've been here. The walls are very thick. This is HARD to find in an Austin apartment!
6. Everything is very well built and the decor is nice. It's not just plain, white walls. They are a nice beige/cream color and the carpet and tile are nice as well. This is not the cheap craftsmanship I've seen at other places we looked at. The cabinets, etc. are all nice.
7. 24-7 maintenance (and they really respond quickly and are very friendly)
8. Very nice office staff (make you feel at home)
9. Each unit has a garage with a storage cubby and a parking space (at no extra charge) This is a HUGE benefit, as most places charge for this.
10. They pick up your trash in front of your place twice a week (very convenient to not have to drive to a dumpster)
11. It's in a great community. It's right near the Barton Creek country club, so there aren't a lot of shady people around. We've seen million dollar sports cars on Barton Creek Road. It's like living at a country club, without paying the prices!
12. It's super close to everything. Bee Cave road is about 5 minutes down the road, and that has everything you could need: grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.
13. People take pride in their apartments. There are lots of people with potted plants outside, etc. It may seem like a small detail, but it makes the whole place feel very homey.
Overall, we have been very happy here and don't have one complaint. We looked at a lot of other places, and none have the benefits for the price of the Marquis.
