The complex bills for water and I got my last bill forwarded after I moved out in Sep 2007 and paid the bill. Then in January 2009 I got the following email "My name is ----- ---------- and I am the Assistant Community Director here at The Marquis at Barton Creek. After completing a file audit it has come to our attention you have an outstanding balance of $31.78 for your final water bill. If you would like to provide me with a good forwarding address I will be more than happy to provide you with a final account statement. I see that you do have Sure deposit on file but I would hate to send you to collections for such a small amount of money. Please contact me as soon as possible so we can resolve this in a timely manner."
Basically threatened me to a collections agency if I did not pay! I provided a copy of my bank statement showing I had paid! They dropped it! Beware, make sure you keep records of your payments because their record keeping sucks!!!
