Beware - Very noisy

On first inspection, the complex looks fairly good but after a week or two you start to notice a lot of problems.

First of all, there is a very bad noise problem - if you want peace and quiet - this apartment is not for you. Most of the problem is the way buildings 14, 15 and 16 were built. There is a very long cement corridor that connects 10 apartments on each floor (3 stories so 30 units). This causes a terrible echo - it is similar to a cave - every sound you make triples in volume. You can hear people slamming doors, walking and talking all night long. The insulation is terrible or non-existent. This type of design is more "dorm-like" or "hotel like" but in the case of dorms and hotels, there would probably be carpet in the halls or better insulation on the walls and flooring. (This problem would be hard to fix without spending a lot of money, carpeting and automatic doors would help some but the biggest issue here is the way they were designed in the first place.

Poor lighting and drainage - apartment buildings (again this is 14,15 and 16) are spaced too close together so most units get little or no light - unless you are on the 3rd floor or facing the parking lot. When it rains, there is stagnant water for days and lots of mud after that. Grass has a hard time growing on poor light with poor drainage - after all the rain this summer, some units downstairs had water and mud on their patios for a month so whatever you do, stay away from the first floor.

Parking Garage - hard to park a SUV, truck or large car - spaces very small. A few speeders and hot rods but you will find those everywhere.

I am very unhappy living here but it is probably because I live in one of the 3 buildings I am talking about here. I think it is probably nicer by the pool area where the buildings are designed different. I do know that there are a few noise issues at the pool area but the security guard usually kicks the rowdy ones out at 10pm sharp. There was an issue this summer with people bringing in glass bottles but that has probably stopped since someone broke a glass in the pool and the pool was closed for 3 days to be drained.

Bottom line - the rent is way overpriced for what you get. If you value peace and privacy, you can buy or lease a home or duplex for this price - one bedrooms start at $970.00 and from what neighbors have told me, they go up every time you sign a new lease. Lots of people are unhappy and moving out at the end of their lease.
