Not as bad as some say...

Ok, so I've read the reviews for Martha's Vineyard here in Austin and I feel compelled to voice my own.
The place is beautiful to look at. I first moved in back in October of '01. I've been here since. One thing I noticed about the place first is all the fully grown shade trees. They are what really set this place apart, IMO. They give it a good look and a good feel.
Management has changed hands a few times since I've been there, but they are usually very responsive to issues that come up. Sometimes you have to remind them, but for the most part, they address stuff very promptly.
The rent has dropped dramaticly, and it's part of the reason I'm still here. Started at $570, now paying $440 for the A1a sized apartment.
Yes, it was inconvenient when they were building the dealerships behind us, but they're done now and the affect of the dealership is minimal. Not enough to make me want to move.
Yes, the apartments have some maintenance issues, but they're like 20 years old, so it's expected. When problems arise, the staff does their best to fix them.
Pet peeves:
1) Parking spots are too small (I have a full size pick up).
2) BBQ pit near my building kept 'disappering' so the staff stopped putting one up.
3) Occasional kids screaming at the top of their lungs outside the windows, especially on weekends... early.
4) Had my truck broken into and stereo system jacked.
Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone. Just make sure your car has some type of alarm. AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt
