I will give you just facts - you form your own conclusions.
1. Price was about $1050 (with discounts) for a 1 bdr apartment & another $90 for a garage (not attached). No WD included.
2. Water from the only bathroom leaked into the adjacent closet and from there into my bedroom, to the point that the carpet was soaking wet. Maintenance had to remove the carpeting and placed a big industrial fan to dry it up, they also told me to keep the ceiling fans on all of the time, and keep widows and balcony doors open. It had to be like this for several days. All of my stuff had to be moved to the already cramped only remaining room, where I lived. This problem had not been fixed. It continued to leak. They did not even found out whether it was plumbing or the cracked caulking in the bathroom tiling. Just in case, they advised me not to take showers.
They said that bathroom needs to be retiled and probably plumbing changed.
3. My car was vandalized. Police report was filed.
4. Garage door would not open up with the remote unless I turn the engine off. Same with the entrance gate to the complex. Placed several requests to either reprogram or put new batteries in the remote - no attempts to fix the problem were even made. Then I asked for a key to a side entrance door to my garage - they gave it to me as if they were doing me a great favor. Overall, "ladies" at the leasing office seemed to never hesitate giving me (and other residents as far as I could see) a piece of their attitude.
It took over three weeks for them to make me a mailbox key after my move in. For three weeks I had to borrow a key to my own mail box from them and return it back to the office immediately!
5. When I moved in, all of the apartments around my unit were apparently empty.
There was traffic noise coming from the road leading to the neighboring buildings, especially in the morning, and some constant background noise from 360. But nothing out of the ordinary. But then an apartment across the breezeway from mine was moved into, and they were loud. I could hear them playing music loud at odd hours even though we did not share a common wall. It is claimed that these apts are built to condo specifications. Don't know what this entails. Only floor seems to be made out of concrete. Walls are definitely not concrete and they are by no means soundproof.
6. There are granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. But that is where all the "luxurious" features end. Overall, after having lived in the apartment for some time, I concluded that all in all interior was done without much attention to details. Grounds are littered with construction debris.
7. I had enough of this "luxurious living experience" and moved out breaking my lease.
They promised me that they will find the replacement immediately, but I have to pay the reletting fee of 85% monthly rent and concessions back, which I said I would.I did not want to go through a lengthy arbitration/legal process to get out of the lease.
It took them over a month to lease my apartment. How do I know they were not taking their sweet time in making repairs to the leaking bathroom plumbing or retiling it as they intended to do with me livig there' Or renovating the apartment in any other way'
In any case they failed to submit any documentation showing when they leased the apartment to the new tenant. Now they want me to pay for the time the apartment was empty and have already sent this account to a collection agency damaging my previously excellent credit history.

I can understand your frustration. I am thinking of renting there and am not happy with the staff at all. One person in particular I think was very unprofessional; however, try to keep one thing in perspective: IT IS AN APARTMENT!!!! What do you expect?!!! |

It seems that most people use this site to only vent their frustrations. What is so very upsetting about this review is that there are complaints being made with no accountability. My question is, did this person see the apartment before they leased or a model like it? Surely this community was chosen for its views, patios and location, the very things that there are registerd complaints about. Unfortunately, issues will arise with new construction and while they are very inconvenient, they cannot be totally avoided. There obviously had to be repair made, wouldn't the same be required and expected of a new home? I cannot vouche for the communication that went on between the management and it very well could have been somewhat dissappointing. However from the unconstituted raging that is going on in this review I highly doubt it. I am confident that most people, like myself, will be educated enough to consider all the consequences and rewards when looking for their home and not blame others for their own poor decisions. The complaints here illuminate rather then discriminate and I look forward to seeing the beautiful views and enjoyable patios. Thank you.

To the "Anonymous": Since you mentioned that there is no accountability with making reviews on this site - why didn't you signed up with you real name and/or provided e-mail along with you phone and address. In that case your identity could have been verified and you could have been held totally accountable for your vitriolic spewings. You sure you do not work for this property? Regardless, you are completely wrong comparing the apartment living and owning a home. That is exactly the reason why renters should not tolerate behaviour like this. To remind you, you OWN the house, and you RENT the apartment. Your rent money goes directly into owner's pocket for which he/she obliged to provide SERVICE. Got it? And speaking about accountability again... when things are are broken in your aparment - management must be held accountable for making repairs in an expedient way, and, in the meantime, offer some sort of compensation to the renter or transfer the renter to a new apartment or let the renter go w/o holding him/her accountable for the remainder of the lease... After all, when you pay a rent comparable to a house morgage for a 1 bdr apartment you would expect not to have things like the described happen. Also, if you think that being such an "educated consumer" can spare you from things like described in this review happen to you - good luck! |
