We lived in the Northcastle apts for one year and had nothing but extensive problems. When we first moved it, we discovered that the bathroom sink was leaking so badly that it regularly flooded the bathroom. Upon further inspection we found that the previous "plumbing" had been completed using no piping at all - only a tube of duct tape connected the sink drain to the ground pipe and it was leaking horribly. It took EIGHT MONTHS and over 15 call requests before maintainence fixed this problem. When I was nine month pregnant, the air conditioner door panel in the ceiling (the air conditioner had been leaking and completely flooding the bathroom for two weeks and still no one had come to fix it) fell out of the ceiling and hit me, also causing damage to the walls and linoleum. With the falling door came several gallons of water which completely covered me. These people continuously gave authorization to various organizations and other un-named people to enter our apartment with no postings or warnings that our personal space would be violated. It took 5 months for them to come repair a dishwasher which leaked and would not properly close. The carpets were filthy and stained when we moved in. They re-shingled the roofs without warning us and we were awakened every day for a week beginning at 7 am to workers hammering shingles into our roof (we were on the top floor) and we had two infants trying to sleep without warning that they would be doing the work. After the roof work, the driveways and sidewalks were littered with thousands of staples and nails from the roofing project which were never swept up, only gradually washed away by wind and rain over several months. During a wind storm, several windows in our building were broken and broken glass littered the sidewalks and parking lots. While they did replace the windows in a timely manner, the glass STILL covers the sidewalks and this happened over 10 months ago. The laundry facilities on site are always out of order and for over a month there were no working dryers in several of the facilities.
I'm sure there is more but I hope to at least scratch the surface of how dreadful this experience was. We were out of these apartments at a SPRINT as soon as our lease was up. The residents are often noisy and your home will be continuously walked past as the walkways to access your apartments cross in frot of your neighbors' doors. This also means that you'll be sharing all of your neighbors' loud guest noises, cigarette smoke, and any other smoke they choose to expell outside of their apartment doors.
When painting was done on the railings or buildings, we were not notified and thus received black paint all over our hands and clothing because no WET PAINT signs were placed and no notices were posted. I could go on forever. Trust me, especially if you have young children, seek housing elsewhere. Please. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk

I have lived here for 10 DREADFUL, did i say DREADFUL!!! months with much of the same problems you have described. It is routine for the sewer lines to rupture and raw sewage will be running across the yards that children, pets and unfortunate tenants who still live here. Did they clean the sewage??? Not until promted by the City of Austin Water/Wastewater and Shoal Creek Water run-off.
I was told that there were three laundry rooms as a sales pitch, but RIGHT NOW six of eight are broken in the main laundry room. There is stagnate water with gnats in three of the. Routinely water flows beneath them on the floor and out in the courtyard.
I too, have a water leak in the kitchen that was 'fixed' after nine months of complaints. It leaked the very next day,
My biggest problem is the water pressures. There is not enough pressure to completely flush the toilet, requiring multiple flushes because there is just a trickle of water return to fill the tank. Since there is such low water pressure any urine or feces in the bowl sits there until everything has gone down
