Cheap rent, spacious, but is it worth it'
Extremely slow maintenance, poor landscaping. Thin walls. Felt sorry for manager who has stuck around. I wanted to leave about 3 months in.
Heard rumors about car break ins, but have not heard of any actual break ins during my residence. The community watch seems to be working; outdoor lighting is good.
Community area in front of my apt. is a dirt courtyard with a big tree. When hurricane was approaching, some boards were put in place to stop usual flooding from encroaching beyond the sidewalk into my apartment. Water does not reach my inside the apt., but pools in the walkway in front, mostly because of the lack of vegetation in the courtyard. A neighbor offered to plant grasses there on his dime, but was politely refused with something about corporate approval I believe.
Clubhouse never renovated, to my knowledge, as advertised when renting. Workout facility ain't bad though.
Great location. Would be nice if they could make the street behind the complex go all the way to Steck. In other words, to go North, you have to make a U-turn on Mopac.
The most frustrating thing about this place has been the multiple requests for maintenance. When I moved in, there was paint on the tiles, as well as minor dents that were never fixed. Ceiling fan in the B/R broke shortly after move-in. I was told, finally, after multiple attempts to get it fixed, that I could buy my own fan and take it with me when I left. I can smell my neighbor smoking with my door closed (poor weather stripping). Customer service has not, to a large extent, "been there."
There has been a paint facelift and roof replacement. There have also been two minor fires here. The stone work out front could be redone. The address is all but fallen off from the side of the bldg.
I will move out when my lease expires. I am looking forward to leaving, to moving to a place that has a better overall appearance, inside and out. I will look for a community that has less of an air among residents of "I hope this place gets bulldozed soon."
Hope this was somewhat "fair and balanced" and will draw more of a response from what seems like the complex manager than "things have changed for the better."
