The subject line above tells it all, but I will go into details to tell you why.

On our move-in date, I came to the apartment office in the morning to sign up the lease and to get keys, they told me that our unit was not ready even though they told me it will be ready on that date. I came back in the afternoon, my unit was still not ready. I insisted to get my keys because I already had two vehicles with our furniture and boxes at the apartment parking lot. They gave me the keys and I came in with the maintenance staff STILL cleaning our unit. It was filthy when we first came in. Those maintenance staffs were friendly to me and apologized for the unpleasant sight that we saw.

The A/C was not working on our first day living in our apartment during the hot summer season. The maintenance manager (Eric) and his staff got it fixed within a week. They were friendly to me. The A/C broke again within a month and it was fixed within one or two days. So far, it still work up to this date.

When it became cold recently, I learned that our heater doesnt work, sigh! Got it fixed within two days. It did not run properly for the first few days and then it stopped working. Got it fixed again, but same old....doesnt run properly. Doesnt get warm enough during the night. I will need to make another work order soon!

We had a rat problem after two months of moving in and the rat started to live in our oven. Ewww! We could smell its droppings every time I turned on the oven. I stopped using our oven because of the foul, terrible smell and fear of disease getting on our food from the droppings through the heating inside the oven. I request for a work order to either replace it or clean it out. The maintenance manager (Eric) would not do anything about it because it still work. So, I went to talk with the apartment manager (Susan Fuller) and she refused anything. I asked her for her permission for us to open inside the oven so I can see if there's any droppings in the insulation, she demanded me not to open the oven. I told her that I will call around such as Austin Tenant's Council, Code Enforcement, or even a lawyer. The apartment manager said "Sure! Go ahead!" I sure did and I got a lawyer to demand the oven replaced or get it cleaned out within 7 days. I got another oven almost immediately! BUT I WANT TO WARN YOU THIS: I DO NOT KNOW WHERE THAT STINKY OVEN WENT TO. THEY PROBABLY JUST SWITCHED THE OVEN WITH ANOTHER UNIT!!!! BE AWARE OF THIS STINKY OVEN IN YOUR UNIT IF YOU MOVE HERE!!!! If you got this stinky oven, complain about it, get a lawyer (Mr. Lynn Sanders, my lawyer who helped me out), etc.

Warning: Susan Fuller had an attitude with me when I asked about the oven. I tried to cooperate with her neutrally, but she did not cooperated with me very well. When we moved in the summer, Susan Fuller was not dressed professionally as an apartment manager. She wore something like what you would see those ladies wearing something sexy in a dance club or at a bar. (Seriously!) But about two months later, she started to look professionally. I do not know what made her dressed better, but I appreciated that she changed her style for her position as an apartment manager.

This unit where we live has many minor problems such as leaks and broken faucet. I am starting to get tired of making a request for work order every two weeks! This apartment complex is old and need renovation badly. We decided to move here because it is the cheapest deal we can find in this area. Nice office and maintenance staffs here (Crystal, Anne, Eric, and Chris). I am a little concerned about Susan Fuller with other tenants according to how she treated me even though I was trying to be nice/neutral with her. She may be a good apartment manager because we got many things fixed promptly except for the oven.

I wish they would keep our apartment green, but there are hardly any grasses around here except weeds which keep the landscape "green" enough. There are not very many flowers surviving in the apartment property! It seem like they hire a gardener with no or little knowledge of gardening. Only if they hire me, I'll make this apartment property beautiful, but no thanks! ha! They keep the apartment complex clean. Whenever they see some trashes out on the property, they cleaned it up immediately which is nice.

My overall opinion for this apartment complex is "all right". Not a beautiful place to live in, but comfortable enough. This unit where we live in is a good size with a mini backyard for that price. The price can be a little cheaper than $940/month because of no grass to mow, needs outdoor paintings, needs some renovation to update the appearance of the apartment complex. Not very many crimes going on around here in the Far West Blvd area that I know of.

I lived in this apartment complex for 7 years. Can't remember just how many managers have come and gone. I'll agree with you that the current maintenance crew is possibly the most friendly and get things done fast. But I doubt if Susan has played any roles in that. Due to unpleasant experiences dealing with the managers before, I tried to fix minor problems myself most of the time, until recently some major problems (uh... such as a burst pipe when I was out of town...) forced me to work with them. Again, I would way, except Susan, everyone in the office and the maintenance staff are helpful and friendly. I don't need harassment and attitude when things were already bad. It almost seems that if you want problems to be solved in a timely manner (and have a good mood), talk to people other than the manager, which is sad, but true.
