My boyrfiend and I lived here for one year. Everything was fine until oneday we got serious flea bites on May 24th. We DON'T have any PETs. We did our pest control by buying spray from HEB but we still can not solve the problem.

5/26-We went to complain about it right after memorial holiday. The pest control supposed to come on every week. However, the manager told me that due to the holiday, the pest control can not come next moday. My boy friend and I need to vacuum everyday for one hour before the pest control came. We continuously got bites.
6/1-The pest control finally came. I told the guy to spray the bathroom where we found a lot of fleas in those cracks between the bathtub and the floor. But he refused to spray because he said there is no carpet. I told my leasing office manager. She gave me the same reason and even asked me to google it. I google it and the flea did live in the cracks. I talked with the manager again today. I told her that it is not effective enough to spray carpet only and showed her the reference that indicates that the flea can survive in the cracks. She read it and only pointed that the flea can only survive on the warm blood animal. She told me that we are warm blood animal so it is reasonable to be bitten. OK. If that is the case, the flea will jump on us and to be carried to anyhere. It is reasonable for me to asked her to clean other part of my apartment such as my bed and bathroom/ kitchen. But she asked me if i am sleeping in the closet. If not, it shouldn't be any chance to have flea in my closet and infect my clothes. In addition, I told her that i don't want to be the food of the flea and ask if we can move to another unit. She yelled at me and told me that i can not move anywhere!!
6/8- The pest control person supposed to come in the afternoon. I have been waited at home for whole day (due to the bad experience of how he handled my apartment). The guy came to spray my apartment around 5:00. After the spray, we need to leave our house for "ALEAST" 4 hours. My boyfriend and I had to wander around and got home at 9:00. We opened the window to let the fresh air came into my apartment. We went back home around 11:00 and cleaned everything in case the chemicals will damage our health.

6/11-We still got bites. We went to the leasing office and complain about more bites. Everyday, we open our door to let the fresh air in to dilute the chemicals. Nobody tole me that i may not open my door/window so that the fleas will "JUMP INTO" my apartment. The lady in the leasing office blame us to open our back door to cause the flea problem.

The problem is still not solved.

Don't live here, otherwise you have to suffered from all these craps! mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

Sorry to hear about your story.....keep bugging them!!! I was so pissed one year ago when a male staff at the leasing office (oak ridge) was so rude to me.I wrote a bad comment here and also complained to another staff about his lousy attitude. Then he was gone a few months later....Hooray!! ps: My boyfriend told me I could also write a letter to that management company. He would get fired or be degraded for sure because of his bad service.

OK! How can you explain that i have tons of fleas on my glue board in my bathroom? How can you explain that the girl who lives next to us having the same problems? How can you explain that there is a post in 2006 on this website that says they have tons of fleas but they don't have any pets? After we had the fleas, we had to vacumm "EVERYDAY". MY boyfriend's hand have huge callose because of the vacumm! We couldn't buy the vacumm bag at the walmart. We talked to the manager. She promised to shop those bags on line. However, she never got back to use. We risk our health to spray chemicals just want a flea free environment. I am sorry that I did "EVERYTHING" but we still have fleas! You can come to my apartments and I can show you the flea bodies. STOP SAYING WE DID NOT DO ANYTHING! YOU are not the person who got terribly bites! AND YOU ARE NOT the person who DIDN't take days off from work and HAVE to STAY at home JUST want to talk to the pest control technician to get the proper solutions! YOU ARE NOT THE PERSON WHO HAVE TO INHALE THE TOXIC CHEMICALS EVERYDAY! SO IF YOU ARE NOT LIVING IN AN APARTMENT WITH TONS OF FLEAS THEN SHUT YOUR MOUTH UP!

whoa, what a reaction, chill out babe. first, i was at a position trying to understand and help you, not trying to blame you. because it may be really true that you indeed didn't use enough caution to prevent fleas, and maybe you just need to find a more effective way to communicate with the office, or talk straight with the maintenance, which they are very nice people and can be very helpful. but if you walk in there and yell at the staff, blame all of it on them, and treat them like slaves instead of people, which is the impression that you gave me from reading your post, chances are they wouldn't wanna take your crap. reserve your anger babe, it's for your own good. now i hope this flea problem gets solved, after all it's still a really nice complex i'd have to say, i'm very satisfied.
