This place is all about who you are and what you want. Generally, it attracts the more earthy, young democratic type who are not high maintanance yuppie types like in other austin parts. If you are the type that lived in say Dallas with a silver platter and think you are more important by the type of car you have, then do two things: Move to norrth austin, and 2) continue to live in your snotty jaded bubble. The good--- Its so green with live oaks, a forest type setting, a greenbelt, 3 pools and a tennis court. The grounds are unique and very uncookie cutter by Texas standards. Its cheap to live here. Its truly pet friendly: a great place to have a dog. Yup. Its buggy. Its obvious to know this after you walk the grounds here so what are the people on this site complaining about' Its not as bad as some people say here, and there is pest control all the time if you want it. The walls are thin, but I still dont hear my neighbors, so whoever complained about that one was just trying to find something to ----- about. And yeah, this place is near....what one person on this site dubbed a "ghetto"!!!! Ha Ha!!! yeah right...go to the Bronx and tell me what a ghetto is you rich brat. This place is just ok. Its 15 minutes from downtown, my neighbors are typically down to earth recent UT grads just trying to make it and are very nice. This is 78704 as well, so come to expect anti bush stickers, and a laid back general attitude of the people. It is legitimate that there are car break ins here at times, and this is a true problem. Remember to lock your car, or have good car security. These break ins are not as often as people on this site say they are. In the last 2 years there have been 4, and the were radios. As far as that person saying he lost 200 dollars in his apartment I think that is a load of crap. You likely lost it by going to 6th st., blacked out, and bought too many screwdrivers.

i really feel sorry for this management prsn. look at the attitudes regarding tenants. calling someone snotty or a rich brat? tenants don't do that to other tenants. and the "south austin" type would not have that type of spirit: petty, harsh, competitive, judgmental, vindictive? the attitudes expressed here and elsewhere have been so demeaning; and sometimes involve harrassment and revenge even when there is nothing to gain. i felt like i was being treated like an 8 year old: i just hope 8 year olds are not actually involved in this type of bickering, hostility, contempt, and power plays for love, power, approval, etc.
