Okay let me just state I am not a yuppie looking for a brand new apartment I like places with character but they need to be clean. I have lived in oak run for 2 weeks and already I feel like this was the biggest mistake ever. My husband and I loved the floor plans and the trees. They never cleaned the apartment or painted like they said they would. They are coming to paint in 2 weeks until then I cant really unpack because we are going to have to move everything again. The comments about the smell are true. The odor here is horrible it is outside as well as in the apartment. My neighbor also smokes so much it drifts in our apartment wakes us up and now our clothes smell as if we are smokers. Gross! I have been cleaning for two weeks now and this place still needs cleaning. I am very fed up already and it has been only 2 weeks. Now today we went out to our cars and my husband old truck had windows broken and front panel ripped out and he does not have a stereo in his car. There is a crime problem here dont let them fool you. It is a bad area. After 2 weeks we are praying we can get out of this horrible place so we have contacted an attorney. Do yourself a favor and dont move to Oak Run unless you like dirty smelly crime ridden places.

Sounds like you have the issues, there is no way you moved into an apartment that wasnt painted or cleaned, as far as your neighbor goes,. you should take it up with him. I have been here for 2 years, and I love it, it is the perfect place to be in the 78704 zip code, you are obviously a yuppy and need to move to some yuppy apt place. Peace be with you, the hippy way!

You are more than welcome to come see my still unpainted apartment where chips and holes are everywhere. You can also meet the dirt that can not be removed from the ceiling. We moved to Oak Run because we heard good things about the 78704 area. We do love the area. For this price there are cleaner and better places to live and still be in the 78704 area. It all comes down to one word laziness. It is sure easier for management to nothing than to do what is right.

I have lived at Oak Run for over two years and I LOVE it here! My apartment has a great balcony with a view of the pool and an amazing view of downtown Austin. The staff is friendly and and the maintenance staff is awesome. I have never had a problem that was not addressed quickly and easily. I can't believe we live at the same complex. You must be a high maintenance complainer that is difficult to please. For the price and location Oak Run cannot be beat.

I seriously think you have to consider that the complex is basically 2 or 3 put together. There are more than 30 floorplans and if I had the one in the middle with the downtown view I probably wouldn't mind the crappy maintenance and suspect surroundings. Also consider that anyone can have an isolate bad experience that can royally tick them off. Why do you think most apt. ratings are 50% or less? It is not fair to say someone who wants a clean apartment with working fixtures and appliances is some "yuppy" or a "complainer". I was drinking buddies with some of the staff and while they were good guys the management wouldn't give them the $ they needed to fix things the right way.

Dear "Oakrunhippy," I mean Dear "Management,"

Yet again you are posting under the guise of being a tenant. I've "smoked you out" again. Not that it is hard. How would a tenant know whether another tenant could not move into an apartment that is dirty or is unpainted? there is NO WAY a tenant would have access to that information. Besides, why would another tenant care? Only management would feel SO defensive and edgy and as usual, rude. Rude to a stranger. No potential tenant is going to be rude to a tenant on this site. they have no reason. only a defensive manager. a deceptive defensive manager. who has no sophistication at hiding her identity (or his, but i'm pretty sure it is "her," or "herdie").

You sure have a classy way of attracting new people. Being all pleasant and all. With the whole respect thingy. Nice. Very nice.
