I've lived at Oak Run for almost a year now and that year has been full of ups and downs. It took the office at least two weeks to approve me but didn't even bother calling me- they called my roommate! It also took them a month to type up a new lease agreement with a roommate addendum.

In February on a Friday, we were slapped with a fine ($100) and damage charges ($895, aka 1 month's rent) for a missing smoke detector. The detector wasn't missing, just wasn't put up that day (due to miscommunication from my previous roommate). When I spoke to the office, they mentioned they were behind and someone would be by sometime after Monday and to just leave the notice taped to the door. It's been about 4 months and the notice is still hanging on our door. Maintenance is slow; the only time they responded immediately was because my roommate went to the office and demanded they come fix our A/C right away.

The office staff is nice enough but only when it's convenient for them. I've had to wait to drop off my rent check for 10 minutes because the staff was too busy flirting with the guys in front of me (and were just picking up packages). I work long hours and usually can't make it to the office because of their hours. The nasty mailboxes were finally replaced and I went to trade in my new key before work but because it was 8:55, I wasn't let in because they don't open until 9.

My experience here was mediocre... the buildings are old, the office staff annoying, and you have to pay for the amenities. My lease is over at the end of July and I can't wait to leave.
