Oak Run isn't located in the nicest area of town, but what's even worse is that just around the corner is some SERIOUS ghetto. "The projects" as they say. I can't tell you how many times per week a fire truck, ambulance, or police car (or all of the above) zooms down Banister with sirens blaring. I hardly felt safe walking across the complex to the tennis courts, or walking my dogs, and I'd never dream of walking off the premises into the surrounding neighborhood. Oh, and the hotel across the street' It's being converted into "low income housing" which will most likely increase the crime rate in the area even more. Just do a google search with the words "low income housing austin banister" (no quotes) and click on Chronicle article titled "Don't Put Their Back Yard in My Back Yard."

We lived about as close to the train tracks as you can get, and while it was certainly a nuisance, you sort of get used to it after a while. Just know what you're getting yourself into. Staff WILL try to sugar coat it and tell you the train noise isn't so bad.

After complaining nearly a dozen times over the course of 2 years about the RODENTS in our walls and attic, management NEVER made any REAL attempts to solve the problem. They just kept sending people to put useless traps in the attic. And when they didn't catch anything with those, they must have just assumed, "Well, guess they ain't got no rodents!" UGH!!! We had critters in our attic straight through to the day we moved out, and whatever poor soul moves into our unit is in for a nice surprise in the middle of their first night.

The dog park, although a nice thought, was so muddy and mosquito-ridden that we only went there a couple times.

We stopped going to the fitness center because there was only 1 working treadmill that was always taken. The other one sat there lacking repair for months and months.

The apartment amenities are all 20 years old, and yes there is a mold problem no matter where you go.

Like trees' Me too. And there are plenty at Oak Run. But also remember that trees produce leaves, sap, acorns, twigs, and all sorts of other goodies that end up on your car or getting tracked into your apartment.

But beyond all of these complaints, the worst part about Oak Run is the staff and management. Each tenant I'm sure has their own individual experience, and maybe there are a few out there who actually like this gang. But personally, it's clear to me that they just don't give a crap about you or your needs. And I'm sure one of those fine ladies will come write a nice glowing retort to this review, but just remember to take it with a huge grain of salt. They're just corporate employees (see: Nevins/Adams/Lewbel/Schell) trying to sell a product.

I am somewhat shocked that things have not improved since I resided there some ten years ago...Mind-boggling...

it does boggle the mind. does nobody ever read this site? i wish i was unemployed so i could stand outside this place with a giant sign detailing everyone's experience.

i've had the same idea about standing (or sitting--since i would be there many hours) in front of the place with giant signs. "BEWARE! ENTER HELL AT YOUR OWN RISK!" "THE ----- COMES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING" "TWISTED MINDS WORK HERE." "78704 NEIGHBORHOOD: SUBURBIA. OAK RUN APARTMENTS: DISTURBIA."

Oak Run is easily the worst apartment complex i've ever lived at. The staff deliberately inconvenienced me at every opportunity. I tell everyone I know how horrible Oak Run is and how miserable it was dealing with the morally corrupt management, specifically HHeidi and EErica.

Hi, I am in a legal battle with Oak Run- I am asking all those folks who have had horrific experiences such as myself if they are willing to sign their testimonies- not here- but in a hard copy to me so that I can present them to the judge-I was told that that would help my case greatly- I recommend that everyone file civil claims if they have experienced the neglect from magmnt. that I have. One just needs to use the info. gathered from the Tenant Landlord Council- and the Texas Stautes on Landlord responsibilities- Breech of Contract law. Failure to provide safe and habitable units are just one of the claims we have against these people. If you are willing to help please call me at 619 468 6985-or e-mail me @rosecap64@gmail.com. These apathetic underachievers count on people not taking the steps required to stand up for themselves as it takes so much energy to do that in this system. I am more than willing to help others- I have represented myself before against hospital/corporate lawyers and won the maximum judgement. These people must be held accountable for their neglect and as we know they are literally getting away with murder.Per the woman that died of black mold. Ms. Erica Holman actually made false statements which she knew were not true per my correspondence in writing with Oak Run in order to file " a criminal " charge against me. I will provide details for those that contact me. Again my contact info. is:619 468 6985-or e-mail me @rosecap64@gmail.com.I would greatly appreciate your help.
