Your sister died and you still gave the apartment a 3 in ratings?

I find this hard to believe. The relatives of anyone who this happened to would be filing a lawsuit that I would hear about on the local news. A post like this discount all real posts. That is of course unless it is real and the poster provides a link to a real story.

Wow. Who writes this stuff? Did you used to work at Oak Run and got fired? I just did a google search and couldn't find anything, not a single thing, related to this. WTF?? If this is real I want to know more about it please.

Why would this be in the news ? You people think lawsuits are in the news usually? Thats naive at best and bordering on plain stupid.

today my daughter was about to rent an apartment at Oak "Ruin" the place is a dump. the apartment move in date was delayed, because guess what, the apartment was flooded and they had to change the floors. the apartment they showed her was super nice but the apartment she rented was horrible. the stairs to the second floor was so bad that I felt my life was in peril just going up. the back yard was dirt. and their excuse was it was the tenants responsibilty to plant. so I guess the former tenants took the yard they planted. the cabinets in the kitchen were not able to close and the appliances were so old that I would consider them a fire hazard. I am so sorry about your sister and for those who dont believe you. Go and live there!

I wrote this post. And yes, she did die from mold and yes we will be filing a lawsuit. I don't know how the three stars got there...it must default to that. At this point I could care less if people believe this, it won't bring her back. I seriously was trying to help/warn people who were thinking of moving in here. I you are a potential tenant...at least go and see for yourself that the apts are on a hill and there ARE apartments and the bottom of the hill that can flood easily. She died in March and it takes a long time to deal with her estate, plan her memorial, move out all her belongings, go through all her paperwork, file with an estate attorney, obtain all her medical records from various doctors, hire an attorney and tears and a job in between all, while grieving the unnecessary loss of someone you deeply loved. I posted this in anger when she first passed away and I found all her paperwork and recordings of dealings she had with this complex and the people that worked there. And OF COURSE, if u work at Oak Run your going to post something saying that this is a lie. Whatever. Also, the news does not pick up every lawsuit and lawsuits take years!! We know she died of mold cuz of doctors records. Doctors records are not posted online! Good luck to you

My husband and I lived in the apartment ABOVE your sister and we are the ones that gave her contact information on the previous tenant, -----, who also experienced flooding and mold issues. So, I know you are telling the TRUTH!! My sympathies to you and your family. OAK RUN does SUCK and so does the manager!!!! She's a real ---- for sure....

"Stranger..." -you probably don't hear more because most people don't know about websites like "apartmentratings"--and don't take the time to pass on such negative info to others who need it. Let me tell you my experience. I had a friend who lived at Oak Run for couple years, until few months ago. They also showed him a nice "display" apartment, then put him in a dump. Kitchen drawers falling out, wrong size burners on stove, etc. that never got fixed. I fell on the steps when a rotten step gave way. After year or so of gosh-awful electric bills, he discovered there was no damper in the chimney, which meant he had been paying to heat and cool the great outdoors. When asked to have it repaired, they gave him a hard time, but did come and put a damper in, one that would not work unless you went up into the chimney and opened and closed it manually. ---But worst part was the bathroom. Tub had a split in it and he reported it for months,---until the ceiling fell in on the apt below. They repaired his tub, but made no arrangements for him to stay elsewhere and he lived in the toxic fumes from the repair job for two days. Fumes so bad that it burned his throat. --Several times the bathroom fixtures flooded the floor of the bath and bedroom, and they came to work on the fixtures, but never replaced any of the carpet or pad. -- I told him for months that there had to be toxic mold everwhere, but he didn't have the money to have it checked and they would not let him out of the lease. He also had the night sweats that we now have learned is a sympton of toxic mold. He had numerous bouts with respiratory infections, bronchitis, etc. -which he has not had one time since he moved...He complained so much that the office staff would not speak decently to him, and would not return his phone calls.----(Additionally, the mail service by USPO at this location is so bad the Post Office Service needs to make major changes there, but that's a whole other issue.) I'm not a disgruntled ex-employee and I've never lived in Oak Run Apts, and I'm just thankful that my friend was able to move out ! I wish the family of this young lady who died would consider a class-action suit. There are definately enough tenents who have lived in these conditions to warrent one.
