MOST TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!

12 LONG months of constant banging and jumping from the upstairs neighbors. Vehicles in the complex constantly vandalized. One afternoon a man came to my back door patio wanting me to open the door. I shouted through the patio door and advised him the apartment office was close and to come through the front. Realizing I wasn't going to open the door, he declined and left. Another time I left my apt at 4a, it was still dark outside, when I returned at 8p I was confronted by my next door neighbor telling me someone tried to break into her apartment. I immediately looked at my lock, and realized someone tried to break into my apartment as well. My neighbor was wakened by the noise and yelled out scaring off the perpetrator. This was at 4:10a. 10 minutes after I left my apartment. Another occasion a man came to my front door at 11p asking for someone I didn't know. I had been the only person living there for almost a year. Not even the previous tenants had the last name of the person he was looking for. 2 weeks later around 10:30p another man came to my front door. This time he said he was from the cable company. (I DIDN'T HAVE CABLE)When I went to look through the peep hole the man was leaning down. I told him I wasn't interested and to go away. 6 months after I moved in I came across a website that lists sexual offenders. I found out that there was a registered sexual offender 2 doors down from my apartment and his victim had been a 7 yr old male. I have 2 male children ages 8 & 9.

Welcome to the big bad city Jethro
This is Austin and like any other diverse metropolitan area you are going to have your quacks. But answer me a question?
Wherein does this fall on the apartment complex?
Tell the neighbors upstairs to be quieter and respect your space. Or report them to your office for disturbing you.
Everything you mentioned is common place unless you have to be buzzed into the place which this is not one of those.
You have to make less than a certain amount to live here in this complex. Therefore you are going to have your derelicts and undesireables.
You knew that signing the lease you just opted for lower rent vs security. You problem.
So what did you do about all of this? What was the apartments managers response?
How was the facilites..as advertised?
How about the apartment itself.
See jethro im not interested in the everyday drama of your life since apparently you dont get enough attention I want to know what its like to actually live there...without the drama.
How is the management. The maintenance. Is it what it said it would be? If not what did you do about it?

Thanks
Happy new year
Report intruders or call the police if there is an issue that warrants it?

I think the response comes from the incompetent management the complex has.
Without the drama, as a current tenant, I can tell you that maintenance is lacking and that security is also part of management's responsibility.

This place is not that bad considering its close to Montopolis and right off Riverside. I have seen WAY worse. I will say it could be better but so could 99% of all apartments. You get what you pay for and if you dont do your research the blame falls on you. Did you go to the complex on a saturday night just to see it at its worst? Thats the key. If a saturday night is calm then you'll know what to expect and if its not, well then you'll know what to expect. i didnt find this apartment any different than most off of Riverside. When I lived in Lafeyette Landing it was way worse plus I got my mountain bike stolen the first week i was there, but it was all my fault. I didnt have it secured properly not to mention I shouldnt have had it looked up outside in the first place. Live and learn.
