I moved into these apartments July of 06. They aren't as bad as people make them out to be, but they are far from greatness. I'm in the larger one bedroom and I pay $550 a month for it, which includes cable.
The biggest issues I have with this apartment are:
1. Kitchen size, its horribly small, and only has a single sink.
2. Kitchen ventilation, doesn't exist heat builds up in the kitchen and sticks around
3. Neighbors are very noisy, can't ask them to keep it down because most of them speak little to no enlish.
4. CAT! They are every where!
5. The office is closed saturday and sunday (As well as any and all jewish holidays. Example they were closed for a week and a half for pass over!)
6. You have to have a card key to get in, and a code to get out.
7. Its in what can only be called little mexico. There is a mexican swap meet on the corner every weekend making it a pain to get in and out (and don't think of shopping at the HEB right there unless you have a lot of patience/time)
8. If you are coming home during rush hour it can be hard to get into the complex.
Overall though its not a BAD apartment, just a lot of things about it bother me. The office people aren't as bad as others are making them out to be. I pay my rent on time and generally don't have any issues. When I have something that needs to be fixed its fixed in two days or so. Honestly I wish I had moved somewhere with a bigger kitchen as I do a lot of cooking, but that isn't something that can be helped.
