the good the bad and the ugly

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006
I've lived here for about 3 years. My apartment is really big and I didn't realise how big it is until now( i'm moving to san antonio in august and the average size apartment that I've found there is about 500 sq ft) my apartment at PC is about 800 sq ft. when we first moved here we got this apt for 520 a month. everytime we signed a new lease my rent increased by about 20 a month on average so not I pay 572. which is not that bad but the property has not improved at all..but it has necesarrily gotten worse. the fitness center has been completely inaccessible for the past 10 months or so which really isn't a big deal b/c none of the machines in the work anyway except for the freeweights.lol. I was actually on the treadmill a couple of years ago in 2003 when it started smoking and shorted out. the starthing and bike never worked. I told them immediatly and it's 2006 and nothing still works. so don't be disillusioned if it says fitness center because in reality there is no fitness center. I went to the office every now and then to check on the progress of it and the last thing I heard a couple of months ago wasw that now the foundation is unleveled and the have to repair that and then they will replace the machines and it should be up and operable by february(2006).... Yeah, it's now almost august 2006 and I haven't seen as much as a construction truck or contractor in here. so....thats a load of crock. also my first apartment had a bad leak from upstairs twice which really isn't their fault b/c my neighbor didn't change the filter but my apartment got very moldy and the ceiling and walls in my closet we stained pretty bad. after the second time I moved b/c my walls and ceiling became very soft..I literally poked a hole through the wall. so I changed apartments which they weren't really that pleased with. so instead of leaks and mold I got roaches...not a lot but roaches are roaches and everynow and then I get those giant roaches (water roaches or water you call them). the maintence guys are really nice and once you finally get your order put it they're great. it's the management that kinda sucks and causes the hold up of the process. In the first apartment here one of the landscape guys somehow shattered my back patio window/doors. which once again is not the problem of the apartment. I called immediately after it happen at like eight in the morning and explained what happened and requested to have it boarded up or some kind of temporary fix because I didn't expect to have the glass fixed immediatly b/c thats unreasonable. 7 hours later I call the office again to see if someone was coming to board up my apt because I'm a woman, home alone and my apartment is completely open and I didn't feel safe. Appearantly I didn't sound like I meant it the first time I said it b/c they obviosly didn't understand that my apt was completely vulnerable and I felt uncomfortable(maybe it had something to do with the fact that my car had been broken into twice.) anyway it's been under new mgmt for the past year and I don't have great thoughts about anyone in there. everytime you go in they act like your bothering them and are taking up too much of their time. the old staff was much better. but oh well. anyway it's nice and quiet here and covered parking is free. no noisy parties or loud traffic. the apartments are nice from the outside and inside. I have had a couple of problems but they may be isolated events. just be careful about the fitness center thing and the rate increases every new lease and the semi rude mgmt. they just sent me a letter saying I could renew my lease for $599--keep in mind that I started at 520. the money is not an issue it just seems like a hussle---it's the principle. as for my car no major damage was done. my front door doesn't lock (even though theres no way to tell that from the outside) so they just went through the door so I'm grateful that My windows didn't get broken or anything. I hope this helps.the lighting could be a lot better.
