Read all the horrible things that we've been through here.........

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
My boyfriend and I have lived here for three years. The first two and a half were alright. Obviously, we stayed. We did have a few issues with limited parking, dog crap on every square inch of grass possible, shuting the water off frequently and for long periods of time, vehicles being broke into, and ants - like everyone else. We have had some issues with the complex flooding at doorways. We've lived in three different apts and two of the outside doorways were constantly flooded with water, almost ankle deep! So with our last move, after having a baby, we've upgraded to a two bedroom. We noticed some strange things about our apartment. All the doors swing open by them selves all in the same direction. Basically, the aparment is tilted. We found out later that they tried to add 6 or 12 inches to the foundation, (I'm sure because of flooding issues.) They drilled tons of holes under the carpet into the foundation, raised the building, and filled it in with concrete. All the while making the foundation unlevel. Anyhow, because the foundation is tilted, all the doors fit incorrectly onto the door frames. We can't even shut our baby's bedroom door because one of the bottom corners of the door drags across the carpet so hard that it makes a loud scrapping noise which, of course, wakes him up. Our lights flicker a lot and our ac constantly freezes up. We tried to call them recently, on a non holiday Monday (3-27) and no one was in the office. It must have been some private Pinto Creek holiday we weren't aware of.
To top everything off, three weeks after we moved into our new 2 bedroom apartment, our toilet started overflowing for no apparent reason. We wouldn't have to use the toilet for it to over flow. We would be in a completely different room and hear some bubbling and then it would over flow all over the floor, running into the hallway and master bedroom carpet - like it was possessed. This contiuned for an entire week, everyday, two to three times a day! We did notice that whenever the people above us took a shower, used thier toilet, or did thier laundry that our toilet would start to bubble and over flow. When the toilet did this our bath tub would fill up with raw sewage as well. The maintenece team did try to fix it but were unsuccessfull until finally the last and worst time the toilet acted up. Both the toilet and the bath tub were completely full of black raw sewage water. No exageration, I have pictures. I've never seen anything like it! I ran out and grabbed a maintenance man as soon as I saw it! They finally got a professional plumber to come out and fix the problem. You could imagine that before it finally was fixed that we were extremely upset. We called the office everyday to have someone fix the problem only to be accused of flushing baby wipes down the tiolet. So basically, we had three weeks to flush baby wipes down the toilet so bad that it caused the whole entire apartment building to back up and over flow onto our bathroom floor but yet when we lived in our previous apartment for a nine months with our baby and all the "supposidly baby wipe flushing" we do never caused any kind of a plumbing issue. We never had this problem in out other apartment, not once. We have a baby that crawls around everywhere and raw sewage was running all over the bathroom floor into the hallway carpet. We had to confine him to crawling in only the living room and his bedroom. Because the carpet was soaked in raw sewage, they had to move all of our bedroom furniture into the living room, into our bedroom closet, and up against one wall in the bedroom so that they could pull up the carpet and rip out all the padding. They stuck large fans under the carpet to help it dry faster. This was on a Friday. We didn't get our carpet padding replaced, our carpet cleaned, our bathroom professionally cleaned, and our furniture moved back into place until Monday. I have pictures of all of this. We of course cleaned the bathroom our self everytime the toilet and bathtub overflowed. We were plenty sick and tired of cleaning everyone elses feces off of our floor. Needless to say, we all got sick a week later. Pinto Creek however, after a screaming match, took only $100 off our rent and paid to get our comforter and shower curtain dry cleaned. Great customer service. This is how they treat customers that have been here for three years that pay there rent on time and never get complained on. Needless to say, after our lease is due we are moving out of here. However, if the toilet over flows again, we are breaking our lease and taking legal measures if necessary. This place is ok if you are planning on living here short term. They don't take care of their long term customers.
