I lived at Point South for a summer lease. God, I'm glad that was all. The neighborhood is sketchy, for starters, and the model apartment they showed me was worlds apart from what I got (yellow-orange kitchen counter with blue and white walls)

I know a model apartment is going to be nicer, but the unit I actually got was a dump.

Major problems:
* Hot water was erratic
* Air conditioner was too small for the unit, it never really cools off and the electricity bill is insane
* Window glass was separated from the frame
* Locks had to be repaired because I couldn't get my door to lock, then it turned out they had given me the wrong key (to another apartment, oops!)
* Wood trim along stairway fell off (this was a big board)
* Maintenance was non-existant
* Laundry room was often unusable because somebody had broken the machines to steal the quarters (like I said, sketchy)

Needless to say, I moved after my lease was up. I used an apartment locator who says he stopped recommending Point South in the early 1990's because of maintenance issues.

To top it off, they didn't return my deposit because of "cigarette burns" in the bedroom carpet, and I don't even smoke! Total scammers.

I later found a place the was a little more money but TONS nicer. Also, the air conditioner worked so my bills were much lower.
