Do not, do not, do NOT sign a lease at this lousy excuse for an apartment complex. Hands down the WORST place I ever had the misfortune to live at. My window leaked, soaking the carpet and nearly ruining my heirloom antique furniture. The A/C system drained through a pipe above my bathroom sink, so whenever condensation or whatever built up enough I had dirty water splattered all over my sink counter and whatever else I had sitting on the counter. No place to park on nights I got in later than 10 - God help me if it was raining & I had to bring in groceries. For most of the year I was stuck there there was no grass - only this disgusting, dangerously slippery mud (I almost fell several times) which invariably wound up all over the sidewalks every time it rained. Ugly exposed wiring in front of my apartment plus straggly half-dead bushes. Very attractive! Plus very narrow stairs in my loft apartment, no doubt sub-building code standard. My kids and I slipped & fell down those stairs - I still have a big scar on my arm from an abrasion I got one time I fell. Outrageous charges if you were so much as a day late on rent - the most punitive lease I have ever seen! Oh, and the icing on the cake - when I moved out they charged me $150 for "holding over" for 2 hours while I was trying to finish cleaning the place. Which was ridiculous because they don't let new tenants move in for at least a week after the apartment has been vacated (I know because that happened to me when I moved in). Then they charged me something like $40 for a stain on my carpet which was already stained & needed replacing before I even moved in! Utterly ludicrous! Worst of all the complex across the street has CONVICTED FELONS living there - which of course they will never tell you. AWFUL! DON'T MOVE HERE!

1) You can tell that the apt. complex across the street is ghetto. 2) I have lived in places with higher rent that was much worst. 3) You should have read the contract and or listen to them explain it before signing. 4) It sounds like what you went through was minor and not really worth posting.
