We relocated from NYC to Austin about a year ago and couldn't believe our luck in finding a 2-bedroom, enormous (1100 sq. ft.)townhouse for the same price we were paying for a 5th floor walk-up that was 400 sq. feet. Size aside, the Gables Park Mesa is a fantastic place to live--we have major regrets about moving out when we bought our own home.

Specifically, the units are just fantastic. W/D hook-ups (I think you can also rent the actual machines if you don't have your own), astounding views, beautiful interiors, great bathroom fixtures, large kitchens w/new applicances, etc. I could literally keep going on and on...

There are a few downsides, though. The office staff, though very nice, can be hard to get a hold of or catch "in." This is a problem only because they're the direct line to the on-site handyman. My only other complaint would be the lighting: for the townhouses, guest parking is carved out of the side of the hill and the spaces aren't well-lit at all. We'd always walk our friends and family out with a flashlight.

All in all, this is easily the best apartment/townhouse I've ever lived in. If we sell our house anytime in the near future, I'd definitely consider moving back... k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
