Not what they used to be

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2008
I have been here for 4 yrs and can't wait for my lease to end. When I came on MNGT was excellent. Maintenance has always been good. However, about 1-1/2yrs ago, they redecorated the Front office and changed management. Since then things have gone down hill. The front office staff have the sickly sweet charm, with a stuck up attitude(And no one seems to know what the other has done or is doing).
Recently the computers were stolen and management placed a sign on the door stating they were not going to replace the computers while they are looking into the incident which may take some time(several weeks) as well as,mentioning how selfish it was for someone to do such a thing and take this perk away from the other residents. First off, Thank you for stating the obvious. Acts of Theft are selfish!! If you suspect someone in the complex then discuss it with that person. This is not HS so don't leave messages to the residents as such. Second, It seems as though the computers were not insured(Maybe they could not be insured as they were dinosaurs). Why would a rental property not insure those items' Lastly(on this matter), the Business office where the computers were kept is supposed to be closed or locked up at 10P. If that was done as per usual then that should help eliminate some of the suspects.
I would suggest they place security camera's in the office, but it may be like the one on the back entrance which has been pointed at the ground for weeks. Speaking of ground...The pools/hot tubs many times are dirty. As well as, being overrun by the neighborhood(Travis Country) residents taking advantage of the easy access(reach over the 'secure' fence and open the latch) and great hours(non resident patrons were frequently found in the computer room and fitness center. I personally have made inquiries to management about this, but they reported that they could do nothing about it.
They continue to increase the rent but do not offer upgrades to the apartment unless you want to pay more for them. Which is ridiculous, since for starters they should be trying to retain the residents they have. Additionally, once a tenant leaves they completely upgrade the apartment anyway. I have old white tile floor it is impossible to clean. I read a comment about the carpets, that is true regarding the dirt. I have noticed more empty apartments and them staying that way for longer periods of times. Parking is limited at best. If you do sign a lease rent a garage or carport.
Lighting right at your door is very dim, but overall I feel the complex is safe. Construction of the apartment-foundation is slipping. I have cracks on 3 walls. One is an adjoining wall to the master bath it has a crack from the ceiling to the door, so the door will not close all the way now. The other is in the dining area. Those are the big ones.
Lastly in this dialogue, Within the last 6-8 weeks they have placed notices on the doors that maintenance will need to enter the apartment at least 5 times. That is excessive to say the least and inconvenient. Particularly, when they drop the notice off at close of business one day and the entry is for the next day. There are plenty of other complexes in the area with updated gyms, nice business centers and updated apartments for better rates.
Not to end on a negative the location is great(there are many others)and the in-complex trail is nice.
