I moved into Alexan after my boyfriend lived in a 1 bedroom and when I moved, we moved into 2 bedrooms. The management was really nice and willing to let him transfer since we are upgrading and we will be paying more rent. Let's just say, they are the nicest staffs in the office when you are signing the paper work and then its all hell from there. We were offered a great special so we signed a 12 month lease. I really regret doing this by the time we moved out. We had kids coming to our doors knocking and then running away. We even tried chasing them down because our door was unlocked one time and this kid kicked the door so hard, it just opened. We went to the office and complained and they did not JACK about it. They asked me who it was and my answer was " how the hell do I know". Nothing was done. Moving out was a nightmare. I put in my notice and requested for a walk through. I left my cell phone # and work # on the letter. I never got a call but 2 weeks later, I got a letter saying I owe them $500 for damages.( It didn't even explain why. I even hired a professional maid and paid her $100 to clean everything out and I did a walk through my apartment before I turned in my keys to make sure I can get my deposit back)I called and called the office... left messages and messages for the manager... and of course the manager is never there. Finally, I called their corp office and they pretty much told me to handle the issue with the leasing office. I tried to talk to her but she was never there and never called me back. Finally, I was told they had to replace the carpet because they found dog urine under my carpet. Also, they told me it was in the corners of my apartment. Let me tell you, my dog is 80 pounds and he doesn't even lift his leg to pee so how the hell is he is going to fit into the corners of my apartments where there is furniture and pee in the corners.
Finally, I was moving into a new apartment and they couldn't get an approval from Alexan due to the balance so I ended up paying the $500 to get my name cleared. (by the way, $500 is after they kept my $250 deposit and my $200 dog deposit so basically, I had to give them $1000 just to clear my name) Apartments are out to get you in every way they can. Alexan is great at it. When you look at apartments, make sure you ask them if its up for sale because if it is, management will change or their policies will change when the new owner comes into play. I have learned this the hard way but I don't want anybody else to suffer what I went through. There are dogs barking on the patios all day long. There is no security at all on the property. It look nice when you drive up and even the apartments okay for the price but management makes A HUGE difference when it comes to apartment living. One other thing, maintenace is a joke there. My garage door was stuck and couldn't open it for couple of days with my car inside the garage. There was a maintenance guy living above me and he couldn't do anything for me until I reported to the office and it was the weekend. Geez.. thanks for nothing.Finally... leasing staff are RUDE RUDE RUDE after you move in. They bring you in with their smiles but don't expect the same after the papers are done.
