For starters, I am not employed by the complex. I have lived here just over a year with my girlfriend. Both of us are younger college students and hold down regular jobs. We moved here from a TRULY bad place over on the East Side by 35 and 2222.

So far, our experience has been enjoyable. The apartment was delivered to us clean and spacious. Any problems (with the exception of one) were promptly fixed. The staff is courteous most times, and remembers me whenever I go in to pick up a package or drop off checks. There have been a few accounting errors when someone new came into the office, but a polite phone call or a visit to the office fixed that, no worries. Nothing major happened because of it. The property is kept nice and clean, and with the exception of when they winterized the trees and flower beds, I never had any complaint about the environment of the place.

I also happen to live near the volleyball court and pool, where most of the "wild college partying" goes on. Honestly, it's not that loud. I'm sure that my girlfriend and I make more noise watching a movie late at night. There are times when we have had to complain to each other about loud people out on the patio across the way from us, but I can count those on 1 hand and it was never bad enough to warrant a call to anyone else.

The one maintenance problem that was not resolved quickly (within a few days) was when I found a black widow spider on my porch. I alerted the front office, and it was 4-5 days before I received a notice taped to my door from the extermination company saying they had sprayed.

All in all, the apartment complex isn't perfect and no one has a pampered life here, but people don't know a truly good complex when they've found one, apparently. In the time I've been here, I've never had to content with people throwing trash or animal waste on my front steps, or just leaving it there; I've never had to park half a lot away because people are parked in my spot; I've never had to call 911 because I've heard gunshots repeatedly in one night; the cops haven't raided an apartment near mine... all of these are things I've had to contend with other places.

Regency Park is a nice set of apartments, on nice grounds, with spacious interiors and lots of amenities. People who complain about contracts need to learn to read them more closely, or actually pay attention when the leasing agent goes over it with you.
