I've lived in the Woodtrail community for 2 years and have had a mostly enjoyable experience. I like my apartment a great deal, but there are a few down sides to living here.
1) noise - parking lots and pools can be full of hooting drunkards at 3am.
2) pet deposit - $400
3) strict rules about balcony appearance - i.e., I got a warning notice for keeping a garland up a week after the New Year. AND we can't hang flags (my husband is US military).
4) gate access for guests - guests can only access by dialing your house phone from the main gate...but we don't have a house phone.
5) apartments are nice, but nothing special about the construction. some poor carpet/tiling and cheap counter tops/fixtures, also.
But there are plenty of upsides that outweigh these few concerns. The staff is friendly and helpful, I've never had a problem with my neighbors (even though I can occasionally hear them), and my bills are affordable. The grounds are well-kept, and they even have doggy stations which provide baggies and a receptacle for poop scoops. Some of the nicest amenities are the large gym (with aerobic classes, personal trainers, and massuers) and the covered car-wash stations (free water & vaccuum).
I would reccomend this apartment complex for younger people, especially singles. The happy hours and other community gatherings are a great place to meet people.
Crime is low, but the very occasional car gets broken into. Security cars occasionally patrol.
