Good experience

We lived in Riata from 2001-2003. We lived in Woodtrail in a two bedroom, two bathroom. Our experience was overall very good. We did have the mold on the window sill thing going on. I don't know why apartments in Austin don't use double pane glass in the windows, I mean Austin has lots of moisture and mold. But if I cleaned the sills with bleach every so often it wasn't really a problem.
We also had a weird moldy smell coming from our air vents when we turned them on in the winter after they had been off for a couple of months. Maintenance came and sprayed some stuff and it seemed to be better. Again, this is Austin, there is moisture and mold.
Riata of course is famous for the great amenities and they are great. The workout room is fabulous. Halfway through our stay, I had a baby, so I didn't use the pools much, but the trail around the pond is a really nice walk.
We had a little confusion when we moved out, but if you are clear about what you need and want and stay on top of it, most things can be worked out.
We didn't have any issues with the management, seemed nice enough. And maintenance was no problem. Any problems were addressed pretty quickly.
The breezeways were always clean and the security gates worked a good majority of the time. We had really quiet neighbors so noise was no problem.
Overall, our experience was good. It is a little pricey, so when we move back to Austin we are looking elsewhere, but the amenities are great and that is what you are paying for.
