Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
Moved into Riata after selling my house (downsizing). I found a buyer and had to move quickly and Riata had an available apartment that they could extend the backyard for my 2 pups. Yep, I got a bit of a backyard on a 1st floor 2/2 apartment. The maintenance guys have always been quick to respond to my service requests and the village managers are super folks. They first set of Dominion village managers were most definitely rude but the current managers are super folks ... like them a lot. I definitely had some move-in jitters. The backyard fencing wasn't done, had some critters, the place stunk really bad, discovered the dryer vent was a fire hazard. But all in all ... love the place now ... even though we are still working on the smell. I don't take advantage of the Friday happy hours or bus rides to 6th street but I do love to take evening walks on the village trails and feel totally safe. I've used the car wash stations but honestly ... I'd rather go and have the car washed instead of trying to squeeze my full size car into the compact sized stations. Though .. I've seen some folks give their dogs a bath at the car station. :-) The gates always seem to be working but heck I've had deliveries and none of the drivers have ever needed my help getting a gate open. Something to think about. Can't compare it to other complexes. I'll be price shopping in another month to see what is available. Currently paying $1670/month for a 2/2 garage yard. With the economy the way it is .. dunno .. maybe its time to buy another house ... love the place ... we'll just see.
