I have lived in The Ridge apartments for about 10 months now and so far I have loved it. That's not to say there haven't been a few drawbacks though.

Cons:
1. We pre-leased in December and were supposed to move in mid-May. The girl who we signed our lease with made us choose 2nd and 3rd choice floor-plans even though we really only wanted our first choice. She promised us that we would get the plan we wanted and it was just policy to fill in the other choices. When we came to sign our lease though, we got our third choice apartment on our third choice floor. I was pretty pissed off about it and they assured me that the girl who signed us had been fired, but they couldn't do anything for us. After several phone calls to the complex though I got us into our first choice floor plan on our second choice floor, but we had to wait about 2-3 weeks longer before we could move in.

2. While we can't really hear our next-door neighbors too much, everything the people above us do is loud and clear. I swear it sounds like they're constantly rearranging their living room. And at night, I hear the guy above me get up, go to the bathroom, and pee about twice a night.

3. We live right next to the office and one of the pools, and a few mornings a week someone does the foliage there with a weed whacker or something else really loud. This wouldn't be so bad except that it's at 7:30 AM, and we can hear it through the walls. Also, occasionally work men or just regular people will be walking behind our apartment and we will hear them talking. The first time this happened we swore there were men in our living room because that's how clearly we could hear them.

4. Recently they switched the weight and lounge rooms because the weight room was larger I guess and more people used the lounge room. I'm not to pleased though because now the weight room is in a room with concrete-like floors and no mirrors. I'm hoping they'll fix it up in the near future.

5. You're probably better off not telling them you have a pet if it's just a small cat that isn't going to ruin anything, because you have to pay a $300 deposit, NONE of which is refundable IN ADDITION TO $10/month pet rent.

6. Our garbage disposal has broken numerous times. They always come out to fix it in a few days, but it just keeps messing up. And our dish washer has never been very good at cleaning dishes. I don't use it very often.

Pros:
1. You can submit maintenence requests online at www.bhmanagement.com

2. The office staff is amazingly friendly

3. I've only had one maintenence request that took more than 2-3 days to complete.

4. The pools are always kept clean.

5. They really keep the property looking nice.

6. They give you $25 off your rent for your birthday.

7. They always have cookies and lemonade or juice in the office.

8. The UT shuttle is great over here. Almost every time I walk out of my apartment to catch it, there's one waiting. OF course there's been a few times where I had to wait a while but usually it's pretty quick.

9. Unless you come home really late, there's usually plenty of parking. And it's a safe neighborhood, I've never felt scared walking to or from my car or to the weight room after dark.

10. Great basketball/tennis court that is locked in and kept up.

11. Within walking distance of HEB, Wendy's, and a little strip mall with a 24 hr CVS.

That's all I can really think of right now. I would say the pros definitely out-weigh the cons and I have thoroughly enjoyed living here. I love all the trees all over (although, don't park under them because the birds will bomb), it's very serene.
