We have lived at The Ridge for nearly two years now. As a graduate student, I appreciate the quieter neighborhood that living in the Far West area provides.
The management has always been incredibly helpful, polite and responsive to our requests. Whenever we submit a work order for a repair the management (usually David) calls us to make sure that it was fixed appropriately and with the exception of one minor repair we have never had to have something looked at twice. Any work orders are handled quickly and we love that there is an online system to submit requests. The maintenance staff is very kind and hardworking. Plus, my dogs love them and they are great with the dogs which makes having repairs done much less stressful than it would be otherwise.
We have had some problems with neighbors. One of our neighbors has several children including an infant that cries very loud. But, there is nothing the management could really do to improve that situation - babies are going to cry no matter what. We just keep our windows shut if it gets too loud. Another set of neighbors was a group of undergrads that frequently came back screaming/giggling drunk at 3 or 4 AM - but they moved out recently and it has been great ever since (we believe they were actually evicted).
Whenever we've made suggestions to the management regarding safety or upkeep it's been taken seriously and we've actually seen the majority of our suggestions implemented - for example, the remodel of the pet park that took place last summer. I do wish there was a bit more lighting in the parking lots. It's not dark to the point where it is unsafe or that I feel worried but I'd prefer a little more. I'd also like to see the complex become gated since my car was broken into.
These aren't the fanciest apartments around but they are quite well maintained, clean and safe. Our one complaint is the pet rent - the rate is the same regardless of the size of your dog. As the owner of a small dog I'd prefer to have a lower rate than someone with a large dog. But, there isn't a size restriction on dogs for this complex which I know is a huge draw for many people.
