I lived in River Oaks for about a year and a half and only moved because I got a job out of state. The place offers a pretty large apartment for a pretty good price (you should ask about any deals and/or specials they might have). I couldn't find anything as comparable around the area (for the size and price). The only "problem" I ever encountered were noisy tenants upstairs. Apparently there isn't enough insulation between the roof of the apartments and the floor above, but noise isn't always a problem as we had no complaints about us (we lived on the 2nd floor) from the tenants downstairs. River Oaks has a pretty nice sized fitness center with 3 TV's to watch while working out, decent cardio and weight machines and free weights. One of the coolest things I thought about River Oaks, was the *extras* it offered its residents. They offer aerobic classes in the fitness center (free of charge), weekend breakfast (Saturday), cool movie gatherings and dinner gatherings in the Club House and even free facial and massages once in a while. The maintenance is pretty good - they are busy, but they do come out as needed. They also offer weekly pest control (if needed...but most often not). They maintain the grounds really well and the staff on a whole, is pretty damn nice and accommodating. It's right across the street from HEB, gas stations and everything you could possibly need is nearby. EXCELLENT place to live!!!
